I need help buying a new car! Honda HRV 2019?
I'm not sure if I'm getting a good deal or getting ripped off. For a new Honda HRV EX 2019 AWD, they gave me these options.
I'm a recent college graduate, my credit score is 700 & improving and I'm putting no down payment.
Everyone is too busy to help shop at car dealerships with me so I'm asking the internet
Did you go to Honda.com and play around with the build you want. At 25K, I'm assuming it's the EX version.
The sticker price is about 25K and you only got a $400 discount? Go somewhere else. Did you even negotiate. Try to get close to 10% off or exceed it. Also ask if there are other discounts such as being a college graduate.
What is the interest rate and for how long. I wouldn't buy a car if the rate is more than 5% for 5 years.
You need a down payment. It'll save you a lot of money in the long run.
If you join a credit union, borrow money from them instead because you'll get a much lower interest rate.
So the two main things to do is:
1. Try to get around 10% off. Better if more.
2. Get a low interest rate. It's about 1% per year. So 5% for a 5 year loan.
You're going to need better than a 700 credit score to find financing with zero down payment, Skippy. You didn't mention employment… Do you actually HAVE a job, or do you plan on just finding money laying in the street to make your monthly payments?
So, you're only getting a $398 price discount and paying a $498 "doc fee". This is NOT a good deal, but Hondas almost never are -- because they are in such high demand. You might be able to get a little better deal if you ask. Have you checked with Truecar.com to see what other people are paying for this car?
What interest rate are the numbers on that sheet based on? Will they give you the same interest rate with your 700 credit score? I'm guessing not. Their rate is probably based on a score of 720 or 750.
Do you have a job that pays enough for the payments and your other expernses, plus maintenance, plus the big one -- insurance?
No matter, you will be "ripped off" because when one tire leaves the dealers lot, the vehicle will decrease $ 1000's in value!
NEVER buy a new vehicle
Sounds ok… The book value on ALL 4wd vehicles is highest in february, Maybe the same Honda is 600 less in summer.
and Honda sales events don't happen until mid to late summer, with factory deals. So it looks like you're being offered a full retail deal with a small-ish discount.
- My brand new honda pilot ex 2019? So i got the pilot ex 2019, only 600 miles on in, but i noticed my car vibrates on idle, while waitin for the stoplight to turn green or having it on while on Parking, my car sometimes vibrates… You think this is normal for the new cars nowadays? I went to my dealership, they found no codes, Maybe a mis fire or bad engine mount? They maybe forgot to tighten something up?
