I speak in Glossolalia. But how come I hear Honda Shonda la high a lot or repetition. Just asking?

Glossolalia, often understood among Protestant Christians as speaking in tongues, is the fluid vocalizing of speech-like syllables that lack any readily comprehended meaning, in some cases as part of religious practice.[1] Some consider it as a part of a sacred language. It is a common practice amongst Pentecostal and Charismatic Christianity.

Um… Yeah… A lot of people fake it unfortunately… So they repeat what they hear the other person say and say I got it!

The Charismatic church features a lot of "abuse"

I guess because a lot of women drive Hondas. "She-hadda-honda"

Wasn't that by the temptations?

Oh and give up the glossolalia schtick. We all know it's just attention seeking.

Speaking from my own personal experiences.
When I was a Roman Catholic, or Charismatic, I did a course in the Holy Spirit weekend Charismatic Retreat. Where we spent the weekend in retreat, and for want of a better term taught this practice.
After having been born Again, and receiving the Initial Evidence of the Initial Infilling of the Holy Spirit, as seen in Acts chapter 2, I have a different perspective.
I would not give the Scriptures, because people can use and look up this Scripture for themselves.
After the Initial Infilling of the Holy Spirit, I did not speak this language as yet. I was told, I must have a desire for it, and should be prayed up, fasting, desiring the manifestation of this which is Holy Spirit inspired and keep most of the worldly influences out. I did all of these, and was pleasantly surprised by what took place.
Having said that, I have come to this conclusion.
The Holy Spirit can't be mimicked or put in a box.
The manifestation of this gift, is not given to all Christians.
From my own personal manifestation of this gift of the Holy Spirit, it must be spontaneous.
It must be totally from the Holy Spirit.
It can't be rehearsed
It can't be researched
It must be a personal faith in the activity of the Holy Spirit in the life of a believer.
It can't be duplicated
God operates in different ways at different times
I do believe, in order for this supernatural event to occur in the life of a Christian, at any given time, the person must have all the points I have mentioned, for this to occur. Since I have experience this several times, since the initial evidence, I have done this, through the Holy Spirit, Spontaneously, and not as a rehearsed regurgitation. I do not judge others who have a set pattern of this. But from personal Christian walk, the Holy Spirit has on certain occasions, allowed me this privilege, only when I'm in an atmosphere conducive to the presence of the Holy Spirit of God, moving in the particular atmosphere. As for my Charismatic experience, it was similar to a ritual, when I compare then to now.
Peace and blessings.

Some glossolalia is genuine. I know of cases which have been proved

a large amount is just babble. But if people feel benefit from it why worry. As long as they don't make great claims for it.

sadly sometimes it can be satanic.

EVERY study done on glossolalia has shown that they are NOT speech like. In fact, the sounds lack any of the characteristics that linguists use to define language. There are certain features that are common to All languages. Even when a linguist does not know the language being studied, it is possible to determine if information is being conveyed. This is a fundamental point used in cryptology, for example. All human languages share at least some of these characteristics, even ancient ones or ones with only a few speakers. There's something about the way that the human brain processes information that is common to all of us.

In addition, perhaps more accessible to those of us without higher degrees in linguistics, when 'translating\ recordings, those speaking in tongues will use the same sounds for different meanings as well as different sounds for the same meaning. In other words, it is a vocal trick, it isn't any sort of language.

Well, no. You are just playing the game. If you know a big word like glossolalia, then you know that the definition is "nonsense syllables" that sound familiar to the person emoting. So, you know better. Is it just chance to show off your panties, or is your church like the one my sister used to attend and if you really got down the pastor would treat you to some special attention after the service?
Shame on you.
