- Are VW new beetles safe cars for new drivers? I really want a VW beetle when I get my drivers license butI ve heard some people say they are amazing cars and others say they are unsafe and unreliable. I would get a model between 2002-2010 for reference. Lastly do they break down a lot? Would I be better off with a honda?
