Is a 2015 nissan altima reliable?

I just bought the car from the dealership we were looking endlessly for toyotas and hondas and we found one honda but it didn't impress my parents so i didn't get it. We got the nissan instead because it drove way better than the honda and it looked more clean and had a better interior. My step dad says they are but i get mixed reviews from everyone. Btw its used with 20,000 miles and i don't see a problem with it yet. I really like it aside from everyone warning me and saying how theirs gave up at a low mileage

Nissan was not a bad care before they were bought out by Renault. Since then their reliability has gone downhill. Especially the transmissions, which are bought from another company.

But if you treat it right it ought to last a while. 20,000 miles is practically brand new.

I would hope it is

I have never had any problems with Nissan and their reliability other than my first car which was a Nissan Sentra which broke down on me countless times, don't get a sentra lol. Altima's and Maxima's are probably one of the more reliable sedan style cars nissan has to offer, good mileage for what it's worth and if you make regular oil and brake changes it would probably last just as long as a volvo (kidding). I would say that you shouldn't have anything to worry about if you take care of it.

20000 MI on a Nissan is nothing change the oil and keep it maintained Nissan's are known to last 250000 miles with no problems

If it has a CVT transmission, watch out.

  • Looking to buy a 2002 Nissan Altima is reliable? This would be my first car I'm buying I've been saving up for a while so I went to a Honda dealership and they had the 2002 Altima for $5995 it comes with a 12,000 mile warranty and 2 years free service, and a free tire rotation it has 98k miles on it I want to know is this a good deal or should I avoid it?
  • I just bought a 2011 Nissan Altima 2.5s with 160,000 miles on it? I just bought this car two days ago, it looks and drives perfect. I know that is a lot of miles but as long as the rental company kept up with maintenance it should have many more miles on it. Can I put another 50k-100k more miles on it in the future? Are Nissan Altima's up to par with Honda/Toyota?
  • How reliable is 2003 Nissan Altima? I would like to know how reliable they are dince i've seen them reached 250000 miles and i like how the car look. And please don't say i should go to honda and Toyota i did and i don't like the timing belt it cost too much to replace and not expecting to spend close to a grand within a week or so not in my budget.
