Is new Kia now as good as Nissan, Honda and Toyota?

I'm seeing lot more kias on the road than 10 to 15 years ago. Back then almost nobody bought it. But now many do

KIA's are now completely made in China, Nissan is now a FRENCH company, so not much of a challenge…

Yeah, they're about the same now. Back in my day, Toyotas, etc were pieces of junk that would break down driving home from the dealership. All of the above companies used systems of false financial reporting and cover-ups to build the companies that they are now.

Nope. The long warranty gets buyers in, but if you don't service the car religiously, and keep records, (few people actually do) the long warranty is worthless.

I would say they are about even know. Toyota and honda are not built like the used to be in the 1990s. New Toyota and hondas are already having transmission issues.

Yes, Kia has come a long way in terms of quality, styling, quality, and reliability since they were first introduced in the US Same for Honda, Mazda, Nissan, and Toyota. Some uninformed people have a long memory and still believe it's a second-class brand. Consumer Reports consistently rates Kia and Hyundai (Hyundai and Kia are related companies) high on their annual test results.

I doubt we have any way of knowing yet. What most people look for in cars is reliability and longevity, and both of those require some history to develop. Ten years from now we may be saying Kias and Hyundais were really great in 2019, or we may be shaking our heads. Only time will tell.

Cheap. You get what you pay for

I've owned a Kia from new. It's now almost 5 years old. I've not had a single problem with it. Not one. Nothing. It's been rock solid reliable. Everything still works good as new.

I've had a Kia for 9 years and never had a problem.

Just routine service as any other car.
And it does handle some reasonable abuse if neglected.

Same as Hyundai cars.

You need a crystal ball to guess for you, and they have never been a good diagnostic for the future. Over the past several years Kias have been throwaway cars with a good warranty. Lookit
