Is there anywhere to buy a good used Honda engine that s not a scam?
Reviews on the internet show that most of the company's and salvage yards sell junk and won't honor their warranties if they offer one.
I've bought a few. They usually offer limited warranties like not dead on installation and they don't cover labor or the labor to remove the bad one. The ones I did buy, I cranked & heard first. But you can't always do that.
I suspect the bad reviews have more to do with people not understanding the warranty.
Or not wanting another motor.
You need to be clear that once you pay them, you won't get your money back, at best you will get another motor.
Almost every salvage yard is fine and upstanding. You should not have a problem with a used engine that you purchase from one. Here is a website to check that lists salvage yards from all over and how much each wants for each part. Www.car-part.com
- Is urgent airbag recall a scam? I've been getting these flyers nonstop for almost 2 years. Today I called my local Honda dealer to make an appointment apparently my car has 4 recalls to be repaired. However, I was a little uneasy about it since it's a free repair and who knows what they'd do with my car. The cs representative on the phone scheduled the appointment for tomorrow at 10pm a driver will come pick up my car and said will be ready next day. is this a normal process or scam?
- How can I tell if a post on eBay is a scam? I heard there are a lot of scammers on eBay. Do you think this seller is real or fake? I can't tell. http://www.ebay.com/...2003028892
- If your car was starting to have a lot of mechanical issues (see details), would you go for repairs or buy a new or good used car? My 2002 Honda Civic is suddenly having a lot of problems - SRS dash light always on, AC doesn't work, squeaking and thumping underneath on front passenger's side and brake pedal, and passenger side mirror is loose.
- 08 Honda Civic Engine Swap or Just buy new/used car? I was a victim of hit and run and never caught the culprit. My car is totaled but the engine is perfectly intact and undamaged. I have a 2008 Honda Civic EX-L with only 96k Miles on it. If i was to buy another civic of the same generation or shell and do an engine swap how much would it cost for the engine swap job? Or should i forget about it and just move onto purchasing a new or new used car?
