Jeep wrangler vs jetta tdi?

I've had my loyal honda for 7 years. Sense it is on its way out I have been looking into different cars. I would like something I can attach a small trailer to and haul my two quads. I've been looking at the 2011 jetta tdi and the 2005 wrangler (4.0). I drive a lot so I prefer something that is good on fuel. I also want to haul my quads. Would the jetta be good?

The Jetta will be LOT better on fuel, more reliable, and will be able to tow a light trailer just fine.
