Manual vs automatic?
I've driven both. I still prefer automatic. Don't get me wrong manual is fun to drive but it's not as fast or not very practical anymore. What's your opinion on both? If you could choose one over the other which would you choose. I have a manual but it's way harder work for little return. I just don't see it. I'm thinking of getting an automatic. Preferably a Honda.
I prefer manual for one simple reason - you would be amazed how many car thieves and car jackers can't drive stick.
Manual gives one more control over the car, more in tune with the car. No idea what you mean about "not as fast or not very practical anymore". That would be on your skill level.
I can no longer drive a manual(physical reasons), but i do at times, miss them. Auto is lazy, simply and lazy
Automatic is faster and requires less effort. Anyone who thinks a standard is faster, knows nothing about cars.
A stall converter and shift kit will beat human response EVERY TIME, not some of the time, not most of the time, EVERY TIME.
I like automatics because its like driving a go kart i.e. One go pedal one stop pedal, easy stuff.
But i also like manuals because they are faster and more fuel efficient not to mention far more fun on a long winding road, with lots of up and down shifts.
Do whatever makes you happy.
Manual
All good answers, but this will explain it all…
- Honda Amaze automatic or Hyundai Xcent automatic? Which would be better purely in terms of performance, acceleration, smooth and fast gearshifts and handling, i mean the better drivers car. I know hondas transmission and engines are great, but is the hyundai as good too? Even though the xcent has only 4 gears, i.e. 1 less than the amaze, it has tiptronic, would this by any chance improve the driving experience? I sadly don't have the opportunity to test drive these cars.
- Will starter from an automatic 2000 Honda civic LX fit on a automatic 2000 Honda civic HX? The lx is a 5 gear transmission and the hx is a CVT transmission. With the starter fit? Mine went out on my hx
- Converting an automatic 2013 Honda Civic LX to a manual? How much would it cost to convert a 13 civic lx to a manual? Also is it worth adding turbo to an automatic
- Can you put a 7 speed manual transmission in a car that comes stock with a 4 or 5 speed manual transmission? I'm just curious to know if this is possible or if anyone has tried it. I wany to know what is possible to get the most out of a car. I'm probably going to be getting an acura(no hondas) and doing the necessary upgrades, turbo and all that. If anyone has any experience let me know
