1983 honda shadow pulse generator failure?

So my honda shadow starts and fires just fine. Then after about 10mins of riding the front cylinder cuts out till the bike sits and idles for about 5mins idling on 1 cylinder then sometimes by luck it will start to fire on both. Like a 20% chance of that though. Lol. I swapped the coils and both tested great. I traced the wiring back to the rear of the bike to find my cdi boxes. But someone had said cdi don't just cut in and out. When they fry they are dead. So the honda shadow has 2 pulse generators. Could it be that one of the generators are going out? I'm pretty much at a loss of ideas.

Check crankcase oil level. If there's too much in there, let some out.

My 1985 Virago 700 was very sensitive to oil level. If there was too much in there, the front cylinder would cut out, and then it was running on one cylinder only. Want to hear something funny? It got more mpg running on one cylinder that way.

Edit:
When you get that sorted out, you're going to need to clean and gap the spark plugs. Just sayin'.

If you think the spark units are at fault, switch them.
Plug each unit into the other's connector.
Check if the same cylinder cuts out or not.
If the problem changes to a different cylinder, replace the defective spark unit.
