82' honda nighthawk probs

I've had this bike for about four months, rode it up and down the street of my neighborhood for a couple days then it won't start, then I figured out the battery is slowly dying because when it has a full charge it'll start up few times but then won't ride for very long. I have no mechanical background but I wanna learn as much hands on stuff as I can so I haven't taken it to a shop so, if anyone can point me in the right direction that'd be cool.

Sounds like the battery isn't charging. Could be the rectifier.

  • Where can I find extended cables for a Honda nighthawk 650? I just am tired of leaning over and I want to do a mini ape set up with like a 9 inch rise so where can I find the throttle cable both push and pull, the brake, hydraulic clutch, speedo and tach thanks
  • Upgrading from honda nighthawk to honda fury? So I have a honda nighthawk 250 and I've been riding for 3 years so I'm comfortable riding but would a honda fury be to much more bike than I'm use too
  • My 1983 Honda nighthawk 650 won't start with the electric start? I recently replaced the ignition coils because the old ones were getting heat soaked and the bike would die, however now the bike won't start with the electric start it turns over fin and the starter sounds fine but it won't start occasionally it ll start when it's cold or try to but I've been having to bump start it in order to ride it. So what's making it do this? Could it be the kill switch? Or something else?
  • Is a 1982 Honda cb450 Nighthawk a good bike? I'm looking at a 1982 Honda CB450SC Nighthawk. This is my first bike. There are 26K miles on this bike and the dealer wants $1375 for it. Kelley Blue Book said this bike is worth $1175. I ran a vehicle history report and found nothing wrong. Should I buy it? How much should I pay?
