95 honda shadow vlx600 electrical problems?
So I took it out for a ride this morning and it starts up fine, shifts fine, accelerates and does everything it's supposed to. I always have it on a trickle charger when not riding. Tested the battery after the incident and it came out to be 12.6 off the bike. I rode it for about 10 minutes, I started to pull into the parking lot and it completely shuts down on me, no lights, no dash, no power no nothing. Any suggestions? I was told it could possibly be the ignition switch?
Could be the ignition or the kill-switch.
Recheck the battery Vs, have had the rectifer/reg. Go out so no juice back to the battery.
Rnaybe you should have a rnechanic look at it
Could be the ignition switch. Could be a blown fuse. Could be a bad relay. Could be a short. Could be obvious if only someone would take off the seat and tank and actually look at the bike's wiring harness and ground connections. There might be a big ol' short right there, where you can see it and feel it and smell it. But sadly, you won't look. (This part is called "troubleshooting.") It really will help if you learn how your motorcycle's electrical system works. Shop manuals have funny-lookin' drawings called "schematics," dude.
24 year old bike my bet would be an earth connection is corroded. But really it is a case of getting a multimeter and testing.
Sounds like battery. Some just suddenly fail after a year, no warning. Get a Yuasa.
Could also be a loose ground. I found my Harley wouldn't Click unless this tiny 18 ga. Ground wire was Also on the negative terminal.
Cycle the kill switch. They often get dirty contacts/corroded. My old Honda developed loose connections to and inside fuse box--the bus bars were just pressed-in. I soldered all junctions with silver solder.
- Honda anf innova 125cc electrical fault? Yesterday evening I went to go ride my bike but as I turned the key the dash came on but turned off within a split second and now nothing works! All the electrics work when the bike is running! Can anyone give me an in site on what has happened? I have checked the fuses and ground points and there all okay also all the connections are okay?
- Having problems with a 2002 honda accord open or short circuit connection, poor electrical connection and? When it runs for about 15 to 20 miles stops complete when driving it, then I need to wait about 30 minutes and the car will start again'
- 1998 Honda accord electrical? So I was messing around with some LEDs that I got. I hooked them up to a switch and I wired one side to the fuse of the cigarette power and the other wire to the ground. It turned on but then turned off. Then a bunch of thing from the car stopped working like the cabin lights and the power locks. I checked the fuses and they are all fine. But they aren't getting any power. What happened and how can I fix it?
