Can i ride a motorcycle if i have prescription glasses?
I wear prescription glasses and i don't like the idea of having to wear goggles over my glasses. Is there any other option such as buying a windscreen or something like that? My glasses are similar to these:
I want to ride a Honda CBR in the future but i don't know if i can with these stupid glasses. Thanks guys!
Added (1). What type of full-face helmet do y'all recommend? Brand?
Prescription goggles or a prescription insert for a full face helmet. You can also get prescription sunglasses as well.
As to your follow-up question… Buy any full face helmet that fits you well. That means, go to a shop and try on a few. They tend to fit differently. Take a look at them at Jafrum.com, Revzilla.com and CycleGear.com (Those are the budget online stores) Compare things like weight, shape and noise level at http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcycle-helmets/motorcycle-helmets.htm
I like my Nolan flip up. I can get a drink of water at stoplights without taking my helmet completely off.
Just buy a full face helment, no need for goggles.
Wear your glasses under a full faced helmet.
Your head is different than mine, so the chance that my helmet is going to fit you is very small. Go to several stores and try on lots of helmets until you find one that fits your head. Make sure you put your glasses on after putting the helmet on. You want to make sure that wearing your glasses with the helmet on is comfortable.
Take your glasses with you when you try out helmets. Sometimes it's easier to put helmet on with glasses on sometimes it's easier to slip glasses on after helmet.
I find that the flip up or modular helmets are much easier to put on with glasses. Of course, I have a fat head. Skinny heads would slide into a standard full face easier.
I agree just buy a full face helmet, my friend has prescription glasses and wears a full face helmet, he slips them on after he put on his helmet. Or if you don't want full face buy half face with shield, many manufacturers make shields to keep our eyes safe
No, everyone who rides a motorcycle has perfect vision.
- What motorcycle will give me a similiar ride to my 750 Shadow but bigger? I learned to ride on a 2007 Honda Shadow VT750C2F and now I'm looking to go bigger. I love almost every detail about my Shadow; tire size, spokes, driveshaft, handling, width, engine look and feel etc. However, in my next bike I want a bigger gas tank, more cubic cenimeters (inches) and I want to sit a bit higher on the hog (pun intended). 6 speed would be nice but mostly I want the look, feel and reliability of my Shadow in an 1100cc+. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
