Do I need to only start the 2008 CBR600RR or do I need to operate and ride the 2008 Honda CBR600RR super sport to destinations?
I was wondering about during times
when the 2008 Honda CBR600RR super
sport motorcycle is in storage, especially
during cold winter temperatures.
No Tans again.
Starting the bike will not keep it in good mechanical condition for spring. All it will do is warm up the engine and when it is turned off and cools it will cause condensation inside the engine and exhaust, which will then cause corrosion.
Best to properly winterize the bike.
There are DOZENS of answers already posted on this forum about storing a motorcycle for the winter. I suggest you use the search box at the top of the page to go look for them.
Put a trickle charger on it thru the winter.
Unless you're going to ride it for at least 30 minutes, buy the correct battery tender for your type of battery. There are three basic types: wet cell; AGM, or absorptive glass mat; and LiFePO4, generically called Lithium. Read up on, like, batteries and motorcycle electrical systems, dude. Batteries and electricity have actually been around for quite a while. You will be amazed.
Don't no
No. Just take out the battery and store it in your bedroom until you want to ride again. It does not freeze in you bedroom. Score a 10amp battery charger for it and every 2 months charge it for the day. And then disconnect the battery charger as you will boil out the water. Keep that level up by buying distilled water from a drug store. And keep the water levels up to the top covering over the plates. The battery may give you 3 years of life. They are not a car battery so don't last that long. As for the bike leave it alone until you are ready to ride it. Motorcycle shops just leave their bikes on the floor. They do not run the engines. It is not needed. So your bike does not know any different. Mine sits out under the snow. Works every spring. No gas extender no oil treatment… Nothing. I just check tire air pressure and add with a hand pump… If a compressor is not handy… Oil the chain and I'm gone after the battery is slapped back in. I got a 72 Kaw 175 2stroke,73 Kaw 500 2 stroke triple,74 Kaw 400 twin,75 Kaw 250 2stroke, 82 Kaw 750 twin. All bikes were kick start. No battery start. The 72 had 7 year old gas in the tank and it started after 3 kicks. No gas treatment for any of the bikes and they were stored out under the porch. They all ran fine. No, I'm not a store. I bought a few new ones and lucked into some great deals on the others… The 500, & 400. Then sold them all one year and have not had the urge to ride again. I have torn engines completely apart and rebuilt them. They were good. Nothing to rust. So leave it covered up until you want to use it.
. Idling is not good for the bike. Better that you drive it on the highway to destinations.

- Is the 1979 honda cb750f super sport reliable? A guy in town is selling one with 11,000 miles on it and says it runs great. Are there any known problems with them? I don't want to buy a bike that will end up needing lots of work to fix when it's only worth like $1000 anyways.
