Do you need a motorcycle license for a Honda Grom?
I have my normal driving license, would I need a moped license or motorcycle license? Or could I just use it with my normal drivers license.
WTF do you live?
Requirements vary all over the world.
Licensing laws and requirements are different everywhere, but in general you do need a motorcycle license for a grom pretty much everywhere. Typically the only two wheel vehicles you can ride with just a normal drivers license are mopeds under 50cc, though some places still require a separate license for them too. There's nowhere that I'm aware of where a grom can be ridden on the street with a normal drivers license.
The Grom is a 125cc motorcycle.
As far as I know, you need a motorcycle license to be legal on the streets in *any* State or country.
You need to take a motor cycle driving written n road test
Where I live you would need nothing, but if you live in an urban jungle like most Americans, you will need insurance, license, motorcycle certificate, inspection certificate, and probably more.
If it is over 50cc it is no longer a "Moped". It is a motorcycle. Yes, you need a motorcycle license, insurance, plates, a helmet. To drive it on the road.
Depends on state of residence- in State of Confusion, must have a full motorcycle license for a year first. In State of Delusion, no license at is required for under 500cc- but can't ride it at night. In a couple states, required to have a L, light under 150cc license if first cycle, first year with drivers license- California and Illinois have that graduated license system- and can't ride on interstates with under 150cc motor driven cycles as they are called. Uk, couple other european countries had a 125cc class break, special beginners license or special testing required and age restrictions-- but regular 'car' license OK if it was issued quite awhile back and much older driver/rider that most posters here, some proof of previous riding. I rode in Illinois a year or so after motorcycle license law requirement legally- just showed previous speeding tickets, grandfathered in. You MIGHT not need a full motorcycle license in your state or province, might require a beginners license instead depending on age, prior experience. Wo Bist Du?
The Grom is a motorcycle - it's 125cc. Moped licenses are restricted to under 50 cc - not even close.
Put a sidecar on it & you can use a class c license.
You certainly do where I live but I can't answer for where you live as you did not mention this vital detail.
- You say do I need to keep the Bell helmet the renter wore when he slipped, and crashed my motorcycle? My motorcycle is the 2008? Honda CBR600RR super sport motorcycle. The Cofounder of Riders- Share.Com compensated me the full amount of the motorcycle repairer's written damage estimate. I was also fully compensated for the helmet, which the renter wore when he crashed my motorcycle and my helmet.
- Would I need a motorcycle license to drive a Honda Metropolitan scooter in Florida? I've been looking into getting one. I also looked up the rules for scooters/mopeds in Florida, but it was a little confusing and I think the scooter I want surpassed some of the maximum requirements for being classified as a scooter/moped.
- What's a clever/funny license plate for a motorcycle? Next month I'm getting a Honda cbr 500r (my first motorcycle) and I want custom plates. Any cool ideas?
- Shoud I buy the motorcycle before or after I get my license and gear? I found an interesting offer on a Honda CB500 from 1993 but I don't have my license nor gear. I'm afraid that if I don't buy it now I might loose it. What do you think? Of course I don't plan on riding with no gear. I'm going to store the motorcycle until it's 100% safe
