Honda CBR125 repsol. Switch on and revs go mad?

Bike wasn't starting so changed spark plug and charged battery. Now she starts. BUT soon as you fire her up the revs goes full blast. Throttle isn't stuck i know that much, what else can it be?

Is the choke being used? Have you checked the slider in the carb to see if it moves up and down? Has any carb work been done? If so it may be possible that the slider is in the carb barrel backwards, there's an arch shaped groove on the slider that should face out toward the air box.

Choke does get used. No carb work been done to my knowledge. Bike was working fine for months but after it got blown over in the wind I took it inside. Then now (about 3 months) it didn't start like i mentioned I changed the spark plug then this instant and constant full revs happen.

When pulling back on throttle you can see the thing on the side of the carb working fine, it doesn't stick in full throttle position.

I don't thing id be comfortable attempting to remove the carb ill forget or put the hoses back on wrong or somthing.

Fell over? One thing to check is mounting for carb on cylinder head- a loose bolt/nut on stud will allow extra air into combustion chamber and with some choke that means in effect a wide open throttle and leaned mixture at times. See if carb wiggles with a bit of stiff finger side pressure, up/down. If there's a small port for oil vapor recovery on manifolding that has lost it's tube, then again extra air gets to combustion chamber and high RPM. Emissions tubes can be knocked off at manifold are or at other end like top of valve cover- tube slid off but hanging on top motormount wil let in some extra air. Cable ends and idle stop screw for throttle linkage something to check just in case.

  • Why do people get mad over the fact that their cars require full synthetic oil? I work as a mechanic and found some people do not like the fact 2010 and up toyotas and Hondas and almost all 2014 cars and European cars require full synthetic oil. A majority of the anger comes towards toyotas and Hondas. Despite me explaining the increased intervals, they still get angered at the fact. Is it just me or does less time doing oil changes that save you more money in the long run end up coming out cheaper despite the increased price and why would they be angry saving money?
  • Motorcycle starts and revs but won't run? I have a 2004 honda rebel 250, and it has a little trouble starting but i can get it started. When i rev the engine though, it starts to sound a little off and the whole bike vibrates like crazy. If i let off the clutch the bike pulls a bit, but it doesn't move if i give it throttle, like the clutch is burned out (but I think the clutch is fine). Any suggestions as to what's wrong are highly appreciated.
  • Honda magna v45 revs while driving? When in gear and driving my bike will rev really high while driving. Yes, as I'm driving along and I throttle hard the bike revs high and loses power.
  • Honda cbr125 bad vibration? I have a Honda CBR125r 2006 . The bike seems to run fine and pulls really well for a 125 however if my RPM's go over 6-7 k it vibrates like made, seems to be engine, but not sure. Any ideas?
