How much is it to insure a 125cc motorcycle for a new driver?
I'm thinking about getting a Honda CBR125R and I was wondering how much insurance would be for a new driver in Canada, BC.
No way of knowing the exact amounts. ICBC rates will depend upon the accidents rates of the vehicle, the average claim, the exact city, where the vehicle is parked, the replacement cost of the vehicle, the deductible, optional liability (i.e. If you want it insured for the US), whether it is for work or pleasure, how far away for is, etc. Plus your driving record.
Motorcycle rates in BC are extremely high since they have high accident rates (young males) and high claims (since accidents often draw massive medical bills). In most cities you are likely looking in the $5,000 a year range. Many motorcycle driver's only insure it for the summer months or half the year.
Your age and location will make a difference.

Where in B.C?
Someone in downtown Vancouver will pay much more than someone out in Vernon for example.
Then there are other factors such as your age, if you have any infractions/points on your licence, what you will use the bike for, etc., etc., etc.

I just got my drivers license but I don't haves car I'm 17 and I'm all about mods I love the way they look And I want to buy a car that can be moded and is cheap for ex: acura integra, hondas, evos. Stuff like that but I'm stuck on what to buy I want it to be a car that looks nice after mods like camber adjusting, dropping, rims, body kits, diffusers, mufflers thinks like that so if you can help Thanks alot
- Would a 125cc 4 stroke scooter be able to keep up with a 125cc sports bike? I'm thinking of getting a Sym Jet 4 125cc, and my friend rides a Honda CBR 125, we re riding about 3 hours down to the Bulldog Bash, would my scooter be powerful enough to keep up with him? And cruise comfortably at about 60mph? Long and short. How much of an advantage/disadvantage are gears when it comes to acceleration and speed.
- Should I insure my motorcycle in my name with a permit because I'm under 16? So I got a 2012 Honda CBR250R but its brand new. When I try to quote the bike online it doesn't let me submit because I'm 15 and like 10 months old. I'll be 16 in less that 2 months. So I was wondering if I can just insure it in my dads name and ride on my permit until I turn 16. So what should I do?
- 125cc cruiser motorcycle? I'm 16 years old and will turn 17 in January next year. I'm currently riding a 50cc Honda vision. But I want to upgrade next year to a 125. My budget will be a max of £1,500 but i really don't know what I'm looking for! I want something that's very reliable. And in the cruiser style. I'm not too worried about speed but it would be nice if it wasn't as bad as my 50 is! Any recommendations would be amazing!
