How often to change my motorcycle oil?

I own a 2009 Honda CBR600RR, when I bought the bike the person at the dealership didn't tell me how often I should change the oil. Lol so here is where you experienced riders come in!

It really depends how much you are going to ride or hammer it, 3.000/4.000 mls I would say. I ride mine all year round in all weathers. (UK).

Which is 5, OOO a year so I base mine on that, Mine is a 1100 cc But I don't hammer it all the time. So really it depends how you treat the bike.

Of course it depends how much you use the bike, but I used mine for daily commuting, which was up to 20 miles a day, although some days a lot shorter, so I would change the oil once a month. If you don't use it daily or for long journeys, just take the dipper out, is it totally black? If so it needs changing, clean oil is nearly transparent.

Play it safe and change it once a year.
When you bring your bike in to get it's yearly inspection, add an oil & filter change to the work order.
They'll do it while you wait.

Your Owner's manual indicates every 6 months or 4000 miles, whichever comes first.
(Page #97)

Do full synthetic and change it every 4k miles. I ride year around and have always done it this way. I change it 3 or 4 times a year

You should change the oil once every 3-4000 miles or once per year if you don't ride that much. Synthetic isn't necessary. Change the filter at the same time.

Since when did asking a bunch of strangers on the internet take the place of reading the manual (or even asking the dealership where you bought it)?

You now have several indications of when to change the oil - but you do not know when to change the filter or how much oil you should put in or what specification of oil.
