How to restore power to my motorcycle?
I have an '85 Honda rebel and it doesn't power on when I turn the key - no light or anything. The battery seems fine (reading 12.4) and the fuses all have continuity. I'm pretty clueless when it comes to.working on motorcycles, especially when it comes to electrical work. Any suggestions?
Battery lasts 5 years. It will still read 12 odd volts but it may not even light up one light bulb. You need amps. (or a good battery). That is where I would start first. If you are careful enough you can use jumper cables from a car battery to see if it works. If it lights up, then you know.Battery.
If the battery is charged then one of the next most likely culprits is the ignition relay
12.4V is low for a battery with no load. I would expect 13V plus.
- Prius: Can someone explain the power usage meter & specific difference between power mode and Eco mode? My brother just got me a Prius to replace my old beater Honda and I'm having difficulty understanding the power usage meter (meter on dash with "Charge-Eco-Power") and the difference in the Eco & Power modes. I do understand the charge bit on the meter.

The Cofounder of Riders- Share.Com compensated me the full amount of the motorcycle repairer's written damage estimate. I was also fully compensated for the helmet, which the renter wore when he crashed my motorcycle and my helmet.
- Why do I have no power to my motorcycle? I have a 1980 Honda Cm400T it passed inspection a few weeks ago and I rode it two times after that. Then I parked it in my garage because it was getting colder outside, few more days later I tried starting it up again but once I turned the key in the ignition no power nothing at all, no lights, nothing. I renewed all the fuses, even charged the battery since it only had 12.03 volts. I don't know what else to check and why there's no power at all.
- Motorcycle Electrical Problem. Power Commander 3 light flickers when indicators are turned on? Seem to have a lot of problems with the wiring of my motorcycle. Previous owner really messed it up. Sent it to a mechanic for him to fix the headlight and taillight wiring because they don't work. That was more than two months ago! Apparently he is busy and I don't know what else. Bike is a 2000 Honda cbr1100xx Blackbird. Problem now is the lights on the power commander 3 start to flicker when the indicators are activated. What is the cause of this? Bike starts and runs fine btw.
