If i make a wire harness will it work with out pulse generator and icu on 85 1100 honda shadow?

If i just make direct line from stator to rectifier to starter selonoid and coils will it be fine with out the pulse generator and the 2 icm/icu? I want to eliminate a bunchof stuff on it and i was wondering if that could go as well. It was a mess when i bought it i will figure it out if it must stay but i just need to know if it can go because it will be less of a headache if i can keep it going with out it.

No. Your wire method will get you no where. Look. Charging, starting, ignition, and lighting are separate circuits. I know they seem like there the same, but no. When I read wire schematics or work on bikes I break them down to sections. Anyone that knows anything is not going to play with a starter to fix a charging system. Look. You want to steal this bike, learn to hot wire the rite way. Your going at it wrong. I'm not going to tell you how, but the way your trying is all wrong.

Charging system and starting system are separate though. You won't have spark without the pulse generator. I suggest you get a shop manual. You can clean it up by getting rid of turn signals and that wiring as well as losing the wiring to any gauges and tossing the gauges. I make imports into choppers all the time. I wind up hiding that wiring because you can't eliminate it.

  • Can you put harley wide glide forks on a honda shadow ace 1100? Both forks are 41mm. I'm trying to put a 21" front tire on the bike and I'm weighing my options on what I should do. If the forks can set into the triple tree with not much problem Luke only having to make shims then that's the way to go.
  • Busted my front driver floorboard on 2000 Honda Shadow Aero 1100. What all should I buy? I screwed up and tipped the bike. The right floorboard broke clean off. Can I just replace them with pegs, or do I have to buy the floorboards? Can someone give me some advice on where to buy all the pieces I'll need? It broke off close to the board itself. Also, is this something that I can fix on my own with a good wrench, or should I be taking it in somewhere and having them do it?
