Is it a good idea to get a crotch rocket as a beginner street bike?
I really like the Honda CBR 600's. I've actaullu never ridden a crotch rocket. I'm 5'6 exact and 135 pounds. Would this bike be too big? I ride motocross on an RM 125 Suzuki. It's pretty tall. Anyways, am I crazy to want a crotch rocket as a beginner rider? What bike would you guys recommend? Besides a Ninja 250 because I heard you outgrow them and they don't provide much speed/power.

Start from scratch. Get a 250.
Would you recommend a CR500 2-stroke or crf450 to someone who has never ridden motocross before?
Those bikes are wimpy compared to a cbr600.
Have to ask, why do you need a 100hp, 160mph, twitchy race replica to learn and make beginner mistakes on?
As with all bikes, it depends how you ride it, My current Yamaha has a top speed of high 120s - low 130s mph. Have I tested that? No.
Trail bikes are usually tall in general. I'm a Yamaha guy so I won't give you a unbiased answer. But next time you park up and there another biker ask whether you can sit on his bike because you're thinking of getting one and you want to see what it feels like.
