Is the Honda 2013 PCX 150 any good?
This would be my first bike since the 10 speed Schwinn of 8th grade.

It is a midi-scooter in the style of the big maxi-scooters. I don't like the style, I prefer the true step-through like the Vespa, mainly because I don't want the high step through. Whatever. I don't have have a Honda, I have a Vespa. Compare:
The Honda "scooter" is actually a motorcycle, even is weird looking. It is liquid cooled 153cc, 13.5 bhp; compared with my air cooled 151cc 11.7bhp. Liquid cooling allows pushing the limit more than air. My Vespa can do 60-65 mph on the freeway, the Honda should be able of 70-75 mph. The Honda is about 40 pounds heavier than my Vespa, but not too much. The Honda is a frame covered with plastic panels, my Vespa has a monocoque steel body that makes it stiffer and stable. My Vespa is made in Italy, the Japanese scooter is made somewhere in Asia -- probably mainland China, same as the Honda Elite I checked out. You would have to look at the "made in ___" label on the scooter to check. But the Honda is about $2K less than my Vespa.
If you want to pay less, the Lance is made in Taiwan and is over $1K less than the Honda. But it is an air cooled 153cc with a little less power, maybe 55-60 mph.
Bottom line. It is not the Top Scooter, but it is quite good, and is a good scooter for city, freeway, and even capable of touring on the Interstates.

- I have a 125 honda pcx scooter? When I pull away I hear a noise from the left sounding a lot like a fan belt noise in a car. Its a 2012 scooter done 7400 miles always had a service.sometimes you don't hear the noise in the sun but wet weather you seem to hear it more.once you pull away the noise goes. When I put bike on stand you can't hear it, its when you sit on bike and pull away.
- Honda pcx crankshaft locks under throttle? My friends pcx blew and the crankshaft seized we un seized it with a breaker bar to find out it spins smoothly but when you open the throttle it cuts out and the crankshaft locks up straight away? Is there a throttle activated oil pump in these or what could it be. I'm used to working on 2t bikes done plenty of rebuilds & as far as 4t bikes I've only done dirt bike engines which aren't fuel injected… Does anyone know?
