Is this aftermarket exhaust worth the money?

After a bit of "misfortune" (stupidity) I did not double check the exhaust hanger on my 2008 CBR1000RR after installing rearsets and lost my stock slip on I70 (now flat as a pancake). I've found stock replacements for $100.00 because everyone is switching them out, but would really like this taylormade exhaust which costs $800!

I'm having trouble making the decision and justifying $700 difference. Can anyone tell me about aftermarket exhaust? If it were your bike what would you do?

How much more power do you really need?

An aftermarket exhaust along with air intake and the appropriate retuning will make a little more power and usually significantly improve responsiveness.

$800.00, plus an air filter, plus a re-map, figure maybe a grand?

It really depends on whether or not you were satisfied with the performance of the stock system

I've had some bikes where doing the exhaust, intake and re-jetting made a "night & day " difference.

My street bikes always have the quiet stock exhaust because if the cop can't hear me he's less likely to see me, but that's okay because I'm NEVER riding too fast… Yeah right!

  • Where can I find a genuine 1994 Honda Fourtrax carb no aftermarket stuff? Can't seem to find one only aftermarket junk already bought one and it wouldn't run properly, thanks in advance
  • Honda Prelude aftermarket exhaust? Looking for an exhaust for a 1999 prelude (not SH) 2.2L VTEC. Were looking for something with a nice low deep rum/rumble with less tinny effect. Also looking at a decent cold air intake system, … Best suggestions take the cake!
  • Is it okay to use an aftermarket AC condenser in my 2011 Honda Fit? I need to replace a leaking AC condenser in my Honda Fit. The dealer quoted me a ton so I'm taking it to an AC repair shop. However, the repair shop doesn't use parts from the original manufacturer. The owner told me that the aftermarket condenser has the same specifications though. My concern is that the dealer warned me about aftermarket parts because the pressures involved could mess up other parts. Should it be okay as long as the specifications are the same?
  • What type of exhaust gasket should I use when fitting new exhaust? I would like to install new exhaust system on my car and was wondering if I use the flat oval shape gasket or round conical gasket or both? I'll be installing a backbox and centre pipe. It's a 1998 Honda Civic.
