Missing choke lever on my motorcycle?

I have a Honda nighthawk 750 when I bought it it wouldn't start at all so I bought a new bartery it. I got it to ru and I rode it never for a bit never aking it out of second gear. Then it died and I can't get it to start since. Don't know if it's stuck in the on position or what, it has the attached cable and a jammed spring where the lever should be and I can't seem to find the parts I need, know any websites to where I can find a lever or can I ride without or hell is there a trick so I don't need the lever at all?

There you go, but the engine should still run with the choke applied.

Try taking it out of second gear once or twice.

Guessing this is an older Nighthawk. Double guessing that it sat for a while not being used.

The new battery is a good beginning BUT IF you wish to work on your 'new' machine I suggest you find a Shop Manual and maybe someone in your town that can help mentor you.
You can screw-around 'trying to fix' things BUT until you know WTF you're doing it's like shooting arrows at the barn to hit a hay bale.

  • Motorcycle dies when I turn off the choke? I don't know much about motorcycles just started learning how to ride from my boyfriend. I decided I'd ride my motorcycle to the store today to get some more experience so I started it and let it run for a few mins with the choke on and then when I took the choke off it just died. Could that happen if it needs gas? It has some gas in the tank but may be low. I'm hoping it's nothing serious. It's a Honda Rebel 250
  • Motorcycle choke stopped working suddenly? I have a 1986 Honda rebel 450 that has never had a problem starting. I always use the choke if its cold and its always worked perfectly. However, the today when the bike was running, i put the choke on to see if it was working and it had no effect on the idle whatsoever. I now can't start my bike easily since the choke doesn't work. Does this sound like a bad choke cable? Is a choke cable the same as a throttle cable? I can't find them anywhere.
  • Motorcycle choke not working? My choke stopped working on my 86 Honda rebel 450. Someone was messing with it the other day and found out that if you tug one of the cables, the choke on the carb opens up and is the same thing as applying the choke the regular way. The problem is, i can't figure out what he was doing and how he go the chok to open up. Any ideas what he could have done?
  • I'm Missing these few parts in my honda cbr 125 and was wondering where i could find them? Honda Cbr 125r 2008: I can remove the main seat without removing the back seat due to a certain screw missing. I'm not sure what screw it is and i need one soon for when i do my MOT. Also, the screw that holds the rubber bit over the battery is gone, not sure what screw type to get (or even if its a screw haha!). sorry for my noobyness.
