My bike keeps bogging down at full throttle?

2004 Honda cbr 600rr 41k miles. I was on the highway after work and there were no car so I decided to hit top speed 155. Full throttle it got up to 120 and felt like it was bogging down. When i rolled off the throttle a little it started pulling and got up to 130 then i gave it full throttle again and it started bogging down and losing speed. Its an older bike and i don't really have the money to take it to the shop. Any ideas?

Could be lots of things like fuel starvation, etc., but everything you said was crazy.
A 2004 is not at all an old bike.
But anyone driving over 100 mph on a bike is irrational.
You hit a pebble at that speed and you are dead, in a very slow and painful manner.

  • Why is my 2006 Honda Metropolitan cutting out at full throttle? When I give my moped full throttle and open it up all the way it just sounds bogged down plus the acceleration is terrible and I have to gradually give it has very slowly. We replaced the air cleaner, fuel filter, coolant, oil, put premium gas in it and also purchased some injector cleaner but it still does this. We thought it was the fuel filter but it hasn't changed it (very much). Any help is appreciated thanks in advance!
  • Motorbike bogs down and cuts out at full throttle? I have a gilera cougar 125 (Honda engine), when are full throttle it bogs down and can cause it to cut out. It runs fine otherwise and it's not making any stage sounds or anything.
  • Mini bike engine runs full throttle, I believe there's a problem with the internal governor gear, any thoughts? It's a Honda g150 engine that's been sitting in a shed for over 35 years. I took off the carb and cleaned it out, the governor arm doesn't return back to idle, it just sits on full throttle. Runs fine minus that problem. Got it started yesterday and it took off I had to bail and it kept going right into my neighbors house lol.
  • Honda superhawk bogging down problem? My honda superhawk is bogging down everytime after i give it a bit of gas and i have installed new carburetor plus new spark plugs what might be the cause of this?
