Old honda goldwing pros and cons?

I'm looking to buy a honda goldwing and I have a low budget which means the bike that I get will have an age between 1990-2001. Can anybody envisage any outstanding problems to watch out for? Should the mileage on the bike be more important to me than the age or vice versa?

Versa vica, it isn't the mileage exactly it's the maintenance done before it needed to be done.
Goldwings have a good reputation but any @ss can ruin a good thing and any factory flaws should have been taken care of as long as the maintenance has been upheld and long ago on the older models.
Swing any potential buys by my place I'll test ride them for you, all I need is the bike and a good credit card, see you in a month.

Many Goldwings have exceed 150,000 miles, with just regular maintenance - they are designed as high mileage machines. As Candid Chris says, having a good maintenance and service record, if far more important than the mileage. If the bike's been well looked-after, it will last for many, many more years.

The only know problem with Goldwings is the timing belts. Honda don't specify a replacement interval for them, but if one snaps, it can be catastrophic. If you don't know that thay have been changed, it's best to replace the timing belts anyway.
