Overheating Concerns?
I have an 1996 Honda CBR600F3. After riding for a while and sitting Idled in traffic the temperature gauge rises to slowly to the mid hot point. However after I began riding again and shifting through the gears at high speeds. The temperature gauge begins to slowly lower back down to cool. But while sitting idled the bike seems to start overheating and the fans kicks on every time. Any suggestions as to why it seems to start overheating while sitting Idled.

Sounds pretty normal. When you ride, air passes through the radiator. When you sit idling, the fan comes on and keeps the air moving. Both prevent over heating. Ride more, worry less.
IF you had a Harley, then there would be no fan, and your only option would be to ride.
At a stop there's little air flow to cool the engine, it's like you sitting in front of a fan when you are hot.
That's normal operation.
- Why is my 1998 Honda civic lx still overheating? I've replaced the thermostat, water pump, timing belt, flushed the radiator and done a coolant test to check for gasses and all is good. The fan is wire up so it automatically comes on when ignition is turned on and is blowing the correct way. Do I need to try a new radiator cap or radiator? Engine light is on but it's for a 02 sensor. Any help is appreciated.
- My 2001 Honda Civic is overheating and I can't figure out why? I have replaced the radiator cap, coolant reservoir, and thermostat. Also, I check the fans at various times and everytime they are running fine. Lastly, I'm not sure if this information helps, but I live in southern Louisiana where it is almost always hot. I'm a poor 25 year old female college student and I have no idea what else to do.
- If My Car is overheating and i turned the heater on the temperature remains stable what could be the problem? I have 1998 honda civic it was good a while back then no long Ago it started overheating and i change the thermostat and nothing changed and then they told Me the catilyzer could be clogged and i fixed it And nothing changed the rare thing about this is that when the temperature valve start going up i turn the heater on and it goes back down to halfways. I've taking it to a mechanic and he couldnt fix it… I need help.
- Honda civic thermostat overheating? Honda civic sport 1,6 2005 Recently my dial starting going over 3/4 and I had it checked at a garage and he said everything was fine and couldn't find a problem. That was probably a year ago. Today it done it again for the first time. I'm not 100% sure were to put more water and engine coolant in. Can someone help me out?
