When the zx9r came out their were still more fireblades sold even though the zx9r was faster? And it was the same thing with the yamaha R1. Even now Kawasaki's and/or Yamaha still seem to have a little bit more horse power so why would people buy Hondas over Yamaha and Kawasaki?

Today i went on craigslist on a saw this used 2008 Honda Varadero XL1000VA
motorcycle for a pretty cheap price for a its condition. I ended up buying it bc it looked so cool.
However, as i took errands and drove it back home the engine was sort of quivering a bit and the and the tires and brakes looked like they have never been replaced.
My question is whether this bike is suitable for daily commute for me in florida key west. I might plan on taking it to school Florida key west community college.

Ok, so I have a 2001 Honda 300ex ATV and my bike recently started making a noise when I hit the starter button. Its not a clicking noise it's more like a whine. Like there's not enough charge in the battery. I thought it may have been the starter so I swapped the starter out. Its still making the same noise. Like it wants to start but doesn't have enough power. So, I put my multi-meter on the battery and it's reading 11.49 volts. This should still be enough to still start the bike or should I charge the battery to it's full 12 volt charge?
