If my motorcycle was knocked over in a hit and run, should I wait and see if they can find the offender before I try to polish the scratches?

My motorcycle (1998 Honda Magna 750, nice bike) was parked outside my apartment and someone backed into it and knocked it over. It caused some pretty bad scratches on the rear fender and a small dent around the size of a quarter in the frame. My insurance policy is liability only. Two people saw it happen and called the police and gave a description of the car and said that the offender probably lives in my apartment complex. Can I go ahead and try to polish the scratches out, or should I wait and see if they have insurance? If they do have insurance will it reduce my chances of getting a settlement for the dented frame and deep scratches in the fender if I try to polish the scratches out?

Can you drive around a motorcycle in 1st gear the city?

I've read that some sports bikes can do like 80mph before redlining in first gear. Could i ride a sports bike around the city an never get out of 1st or 2nd gear an ride safetly? I have a automatic 79 honda motorcycle which i like no clutch an have had a hard time riding manual bikes mostly down shifting an locking the rear wheel up. I was thinking of geting a 250 ninja or cbr to learn to shift i live in a city an don't usually go past 35mph

Daily drive motorcycle vs car cost to operate?

I currently drive a 70s honda motorcycle. I put 400 into the bike got new tires, chain sprockets brakes an a battery i pay about 200 a year for insurance and the bike cost about 1200. I'm looking at would a car be cheaper to operate. I can buy a older toyota camry for 2k with 170k miles an insure for 100 a month liability. Gas mileage would be the same in the camry so i'm looking at would a car hold up longer with less maitance cost. The downfall is the car cost anothr 900 a year in insurance but the bike requires work more often.

Trouble deciding between Honda Vision 110 and Yamaha D'elight 125?

I'm trying to decide which to buy between the Honda Vision 110 or Yamaha D elight 125… I've sat on both bikes. I've found the Yamaha to be more comfortable to sit on, and has more storage space under the seat, but the Honda apparently does more mpg, and I slightly prefer it style-wise. Which would you choose?

Is there anyway to add a motercycle compartment to a volkswagen van?

I'm planning a cross country trip in the future with a '73 Volkswagen van. It runs well but I wouldn't want to take it on rough roads so I was thinking about taking my bike with me on the road. It's a 2003 Honda rebel, 250cc. I was wondering if there was anything I could add to my van so I could take my bike with me. Anything helps, thanks.
