I have a 1986 Honda rebel 450 that has never had a problem starting. I always use the choke if its cold and its always worked perfectly. However, the today when the bike was running, i put the choke on to see if it was working and it had no effect on the idle whatsoever. I now can't start my bike easily since the choke doesn't work. Does this sound like a bad choke cable? Is a choke cable the same as a throttle cable? I can't find them anywhere.
Everyone always says to get the Ninja 250 or the Honda CBR250R. Others say you'll get bored with the 250, get a 500cc or a little smaller. For me, that bike would be the Honda CBR500R. Everyone says it depends on your weight. Right now, I'm on average about 105 pounds. But I wanna gain up to 125 pounds. BMI said so… I'll gain that weight before I get a bike because I wanna wait a couple years before I buy one anyway. I live with my mom and she would never let me buy one. But I'm learning to live on my own. So, the real question is… What is a good starter bike for a 125 pound man who has never driven a motorcycle or dirt bike? I really don't wanna start on a 250cc or 300cc. 400cc's to 500cc's is where I wanna start. But give me your opinion.
Just got the carbs cleaned and working perfectly on my 82 Honda Nighthawk 450. I started the bike and just a moment later there's a white smoke coming from the engine and exhaust. I took the spark plugs off to aid in addressing the issue and I have found that there's a black oil on them. Anybody have an idea as to what's going on here?
I'm interested in motorcycles and I have been looking at the Honda NM4. My main concern is how quiet it is, If I'm on the road I want to be as noticeable as possible to avoid any accidents, so is there anyway to make it louder?
I've been looking for a replacement headlight, but I can't seem to trust the sites that sell them because I've had problems with the last headlight I bought online. So is there any trusted sites that I can get a aftermarket headlight for my 1980 Honda cb750c or can you send me a link to a headlight that is compatible to my bike.
How much would it cost to swap my engine?
Added (1). I have a 84 honda nighthawk 650cc. It had an oil leak and the engine blew. I have found used motors for the bike at 500 bucks, I was curious as to how much money (roughly) would it cost to get a mechanic to replace it for me. Also if it would be easier to replace it myself. I'm not mechanically inclined but I can learn. I live in new york city if that makes any difference.
About to get my motorcycle license, I'm 17. I want a motorcycle that is good for beginners but doesn't make me look like a *****. I'm thinking of getting a sport bike but i don't know. Any suggestions, tips, advice would be much appreciated.

I'm 20 years old and currently looking to purchase a sport bike. I have rode dirt bikes my entire life but have never owned a motorcycle. I have been looking at some in the 600cc class. My friend has a Honda 600cbr and I ride it very often. The bank that I work at just received a 2006 Hayabusa with around 12000 miles. The bike is missing a muffler and has also been stretched what I believe to be about 2-4 inches. The bike is also in need of a paint job. It is painted flat black and not well done. I have a chance to buy the bike for around 4500 and just want to know if this sounds like a good deal. I will be putting a muffler of some kind on it as well as the stock swing arm. Please help.
Added (1). I should have mentioned that the bike is selling for 5500. Because I work at the bank I was told that I could buy it for 4500 at the moment or wait until winter and possibly get it even cheaper. I just want to know if it would be worth the risk or if I should continue looking.
I put new coolant in it, and it's still overheating. When I ride it, it gets hot, the temp light comes on, then the oil light. I've kept it parked since then, and it has plenty of new oil and coolant. What's the problem?
I just put anew aftermarket exhaust on my 2004 Honda Shadow Aero 750 (vt750c) I replaced the exhaust gaskets. I have rode it twice since and noticed a leak where the front exhaust bolts to the head. The question is when I take the exhaust back off and put it back on to try and fix the leak will the new gasket still be good or should I replace it?
