Reliable places to buy used motorcycles?

If this helps, I want a Honda CBR600rr, abs if i can get it. I want it used, the max Id spend on the bike is $5,000 - $6,000. I'm not sure if craigslist is a reliable place, and isn't the dealership expensive? Don't say cycle world they have horrible reviews. BUT Help?

I buy stuff fronn annazon and i get good stuff

Craigslist and facebook marketplace can be pretty reliable, they'll require good judgment on your part. You're gonna have to know what you're doing, what to inspect and ask, and make a judge of character on the seller. If you have good technical knowledge then make sure to poke and prod around the bike before you buy it, check the compression, underside of the crankcase for oil, spark plug coloring, and general condition. Plus if you bring a toolbox you might intimidate the guy into revealing info about the bike.

It's a big world and we aren't clairvoyant, so until you mention where you are, we can't help you. FAIL

Just be careful want to be safe and not scammed

Craigslist is often as good or as bad as the person using it. If it is somebody that you know (at least indirectly) you can expect an honest deal. I have never bought anything off of eBay that was in worse condition than described.

Like dude, the secret to getting a good used bike is to PAY a good mc mechanic to INSPECT and TEST RIDE it, and to get the bike's MAINTENANCE HISTORY. The stuff in caps is important.

US Government auctions.
They sell property seized
from organized crime. You
enter your bid purchase &
wait to see if it is accepted.

I got mine off eBay. A dealer several hundred miles away was selling it. Got a good deal (I thought).

Go to an established motorcycle dealer. I've always found motorcycle dealer ships to be much more honest than automobile dealerships. There's a brotherhood when you become a rider. You can start with a Honda dealership but the used bike you want may be at another shop. Ride it before you decide to buy it.

A motorcycle dealer selling the part exchange bikes that have come in the year before. Yes they might be more expensive, but that is why you are paying above the cost of some monkey selling online.

  • What's the most reliable low-cost car I can buy in the 2-4k pricerange? So, after several horrific car experiences with repairs and maintenance I simply couldnt afford to keep up with, I'm seeking suggestions for the most reliable car I can get in my price range of $2,000-$4,000 dollars. My initial thoughts were maybe A late 90s early 00s Honda with around 100k (or less?).
  • What is the most reliable used car one can get? Your 3 choices? I'm shopping for an inexpensive vehicle that I can use to run around for errands and groceries in an semi urban area. Something economical on gas and good and reliable. I was thinking Honda Civil? What is your thought on that?
  • Motorcycles: Is a Honda CBR600F4i as reliable as they're made out to be? I really like the '06 Honda CBR600F4i with the yellow paint scheme. I notice that even a lot older ones are still holding value. Does the fairing rattle and buzz like cheaper motorcycles?
