What's the better bike?
I'm torn between the honda CBR500R and the Cbr500x. I want something with a slight sportiness too it but I also would like something comfy as I'm 6ft 4 and don't want to be too cramped on long rides. Obviously, the X is the comfort and the R is the sport but am I loosing any performance with the X or loosing any comfort with the R if that makes sense?
They're sh/t.
You'll be better off on GS650/800.
You can higher/adjust the suspension.
Cbr650f is a really comfortable bike it's a cross between a touring and sport
Realistically you only rarely use the full performance of a bike. Where I live I could arrange test rides on both, so that is what I would do. My preference would be for the taller bike as I'm tall too and I prefer the ability to see over the top of cars, the payoff is that the taller seating position sometimes discourages you from using the performance.
Ever go down a dirt road? Get the X.
Eenie, meanie, minie, moe.
If want a bike that is comfy and performs well (if you're a hot-dog) than buy my Triumph Tiger 955i. I race both dirt and track and love touring and that Tiger is a mix in-between (have surprised a few sport-bikers in the twisties) and is pretty good on the long-hauls.
- Which bike would be a good first sport bike. Looking at CBR1000/600's and also the yamaha R1/R6? I don't know much about the differences, I know some people are all for Suzuki, Yamaha, Honda, of Kawasaki. Seems that whatever bike someone has, they say its the best. I wish I could just ride all of them and see for myself. Tampa, FL Sam
- What's a good adventure type motor bike for 2 people to ride together, HONDA's nc700x? Anything better? Purpose is to ride around the bay area in san fran and take adventure rides to places like CANADA or Mexico (maybe)…
- Is a Honda or Kawasaki dirt bike better? I'm going to get my first dirt bike soon. I'm a "whopping" 4' 9". I want to get a bike with not too much power, but not too little, and want one that usually doesn't break down. I heard that Kawasaki's are better, but don't rely on it… So, what do you think?
- I put 87 octane gas in my bike, can I use octane boost to correct the problems it's causing my bike? Last night I put 87 octane in my 2008 Honda Shadow 750. It started sputtering and stalled out on me twice last night. Can I use octane boost to make it run cleaner and better. Will that help fix the stalling problem as I have always run 93 octane and never had any problems?
