Which is a better motor cycle brand, honda or harley?

I want to buy a motorcycle, and I don't know which brand I want. I want a cruiser, not a crotch rocket. Any opinions on which brand has a better bike?

Consider Kawasaki, Suzuki, or Yamaha also if you don't want your brains to vibrate.

Better how? Price, cost to own, reliability, comfort, handling or intangibles?

Value for money, definitely any of the Japanese brands.

What you get with a Harley is image. That's not to say that Harley are inferior bikes but they are much more expensive compared to Honda's and the other Japanese motorcycles. That is why it's not the same value.

Two different animals.
If you asking here, u long time from buying a motorcycle.
"cruising" means totally different things on each brand.
Depends entirely on how much money you got upfront.
Depends on where you live.
Depends on how much time in the repair shop you want it to spend.
Do some serious research about both b4 spending a dime

BMW make the best cruisers. The horizontally opposed engine layout makes for reduced vibration. They are quality bikes too.

Honda by far but Harley make better cruisers than all the Japanese makers.

Go for a test ride, and decide then.

*ALL* new motorcycles are good. There's no "better", just different.

If you want a 250cc twin, you can get a Honda parallel twin or a Yamaha V-twin. Harley doesn't make one.
If you want a 650cc Big Single, a "Thumper," you can only get the Suzuki S40, Harley doesn't make one.
If you want a parallel twin of any size -- Harley doesn't make one, get the Honda 700 or a Triumph.
If you want a stretched bar-hopper "chopper" get the Honda Fury, Harley doesn't make one.
If you want a big (over 1.5l) cruiser, Harley sells over 50% while all of the other marks together sell the rest.
Honda use to make the 750cc Shadow, but Harley now makes one, same price, better.
Yamaha made the Bolt to match the Iron 883, but if you actually look at both the Harley is far better.

The question is, what do YOU want out of a motorcycle.

1/ do an approved motorcycles learners course
2/ buy a LAMS approved smaller second hand bike first.
3/ Get your licence
4/ ride for a year or more
5/ look at other bikes out there. Test ride various types & makes (as many as you can)
6/ look at what manufacturers are supported in your area
By this time you'll know enough to make your own decision

Honda.
