Which is better for a beginner: a Kawasaki ninja 250r or a Honda CBR250R?

I'm a beginner and I'm thinking about getting a bike. Please don't tell me to get a 600 or 1000 or whatever. I don't need those. I can do well with a 250. I just want to know what is better in your guys' opinion. Please explain why.

Kawasaki Ninja 250R
You will end up on the highway regardless of your plans, so I feel it is best to go with something that has fairings. Your best bet would be to go sit on one, put both feed on the pegs, and sit as if you were riding it. If you end up feeling cramped then go sit on either a cruiser style (Vstar 650) or if you are into sport bikes, then the Suzuki SV650 or Ninja 650 have a LOT of growing room (in terms of skill), and you will most likely never outgrow it as a rider. Keep in mind, do not go to a 600CC, they are very unnecessary, over 90% of riders on a 600 can't ride it to its maximum potential, so why bother?

Honda CBR250R

Others have compared before: http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/...rison.aspx

Check the chart -- the Honda has more torque and more horsepower, from idle to 9,000 RPM. The Ninjette is better on the track, the Honda is better on the streets. Where will you be riding? Even the magazine only clocks the 0-60 times -- like you should ever do 0-60 in a 40-zone. They never show the 0-40, which is where you will be trying to get ahead when the cages are trying to out accelerate you when the traffic signal goes green.

There are two types of noses-
The one you pick.
The one someone else picks.
In this case both noses are about the same, so pick the one that looks like the one you wish to pick.

Whichever one is cheaper or looks cooler to you. I would go with the ninja 250r as it is the fastest 250 in its class. Both bikes are equal in reliability.

Honda CBR250R For its VFM

There are battles all over the internet about which is "better" for the Kawasaki Ninja 250R, and the Honda CBR250.

Basically, I have come to the conclusion they are close enough that a beginner wouldn't know the difference. Each one can slightly edge out the other in certain categories, but lose to the other in other categories. When it comes to having a ~500rpm difference for the start of the powerband, vs different ranges to get <1-2bhp difference out of it? Yeah, a beginner won't be able to tell any of that.

So in the end? Go shallow. Which one looks better? Do you have a Honda dealer or a Kawi dealer by you? Etc as the bikes are essentially the same.

  • Which motorcycle this is? (ex. Honda, kawasaki, yamaha, etc.) And series as well (ex. Cbr, ninja, etc.)? Thank you very much! The reason I'm asking is because it is not physically in my possession… Otherwise I obviously would have checked the bike itself.
  • Which looks better: a Kawasaki Ninja 250r or a Honda CBR250R? I'm debating these two bikes and they are both pretty similar. Now I'm just deciding which looks better? Here is a couple of pictures of them side by side. P.S don't just by color. Just plain looks.
  • Ninja 300 or Honda CBR500r for beginner? I'm looking at getting a bike and the two that interest me are the Ninja 300 and the Honda CBR500r. Just want to know what you guys would pick and why? I'm leaning towards the Ninja 300. Like the looks of it better but i'm also 6'4'' and about 175 Lbs so that may be a little small in size, motor has plenty of powerful might be a little cramped though. But anyway, what are your thoughts?
  • Kawasaki Ninja 300 or Honda Cbr300r? As a beginner I'm not sure which one to go with here. I have been riding dirt bikes in my past years so I figured the 300's would be fun to start on. I'm female relatively small, about 5'2 and 120lb. Any advice on which bike to go for? I've always liked the Honda Cbr model but can't decide if I should give the other a chance. Is there anything you do or don't like about them?
