My Moped Stopped Working, What's Wrong with it? (Honda Aero 55 1983')?

I have a Honda aero 55, 1983 and I was riding it one day when it just shut off out of nowhere. I've had it about a year now and never had a problem. Oil and gas is full and when I kick start it, it sounds normal just doesn't start. Also the battery isn't bad, charged it over night and tried it with no hope. Any ideas?

There are computerized "sensors" put on motor vehicles that wear out. For no reason other than the sensor wearing out, the engine is programmed to stop working suddenly. You have to take it into the mechanic shop and have them use a special little machine that can diagnose if a sensor has worn out.

You mean besides the fact that it's 35 years old?

Replace the plug. Disconnect the carb from the intake and spray starting fluid on the intake. Try to start. Moped starts and dies, replace the fuel filter and clean the carb. Check the float needle and float needle valve. Clean or replace the jets. Replace the air filter. Check if fuel is getting to the carb when kick starting.

Moped does not start with the starting fluid, check for spark. No spark, check for a bad ignition coil. Check for a bad CDI module.

After trying to start it a couple of times remove the spark plug & look at it. Is the gap correct & the electrodes in good condition? Is the plug wet with fuel? (Bone dry - fuel problem. Oil covered rings stuffed, soaking wet - carby flooded, ) Put the lead back on the plug, rest the metal part of the plug body on the engine, ignition on & kick it over. Is there a spark at the plug? No spark then coil or points problem.
An old trick worth trying for roadside breakdowns is t ouse a cigarette lighter t oheat the working end of the plug before putting it back in.

Maybe low oil sensor? Used to be a few of the oil minder safety sensors were sensitive- some oil left but grounded ignition anyway.

Put in a new spark plug.
