1999 Honda Odyssey Transmission?

I have a 1999 Honda odyssey that I bought in April 2014 with 118K miles and by December 2014 my transmission was gone. I now don't know if I should have my transmission rebuilt for $1,300 with a 1 year warranty… OR as my husband wants to do go the cheaper way which is to buy one from a savage and install it… Any suggestions, comments?

If you by a used one from a salvage yard and you get it put in professionally then I would go with that option as long as you look at it and everything checks out and it can be verified as a low mile transmission transmission rebuild usually aren't worth it many times people usually just go with a used one and install it

Several things hear I worry about
1) 1300 rebuilt is a very cheap price with a warranty ask questions will hard parts be included with this price or will they cost be more which I suspect it will
2) is the 1300 dollars the price of the transmission not including labor shop might be buying a rebuilt transmission and no labor cost is given yet
3) Honda had problem transmissions between 98-07 Odyssey being the worse you just might be getting another bad one from the junkyard remember one thing if that junkyard transmission goes during the j/y warranty j/y gives you another transmission shop recharges labor since you supplied the part
4) find local shop at ATRA.COM for more info
5) Honda transmission work is our bread and butter jobs we do between 5-10 a month normal price with parts and labor run around 2700 dollars
