HONDA 2007 ACCORD MANUAL TRANSMISSION PROBLEM?
Clutch fluid is full everything is checked besides transmission. When I start the car it won't go into first gear from neutral but if I start it in first it goes smooth and easy up to third gear but fourth and fifth kinda hard. Reverse is an issue too… Any ideas?
Shift bushing probably - take it to a Honda dealer - less risk of getting sold a bill of goods by some jack-leg mechanic.
Your car needs to be replaced
It is the clutch release system. Try "pumping" up the clutch hydraulic system. Several full strokes of the clutch pedal. If it pumps up then at least the master cylinder is working right. If it will not pump up then the problem might be the master cylinder.
There's a valve in this system called the "residual pressure valve". It might be an integral part of the master cylinder, slave cylinder or the line between the two. It's purpose is to keep a set amount of pressure in the line to provide for self adjustments. When it fails the system bleeds down and does what you are experiencing.
Then there's the slave cylinder which might be close its limits because of wear of the clutch.
Sounds to me like you have clutch problems. Maybe the clutch isn't fully releasing. Have the clutch cylinder checked and bled if necessary.
It needs to go to the shop, its fried.
It sounds like you either have air in the hydraulic clutch system or the transmission input shaft is binding in the flywheel bushing/bearing and the tranny keeps spinning even though the clutch pedal is down all the way.
"Everything is checked"? Does that mean you know how to bleed the clutch hydraulic system and there's no air coming out of the slave cylinder bleeder screw?
Best find a mechanic!
Bleed the clutch, check for pedal free play and check adjustment on slave cylinder. No joy, time to drop the transaxle.
Linkage needs adjustment. Either a steel cable or steel rods that connect the shifter to the tranny. Could be the clutch is boogered up? I'd bet the linkage just needs adjustment.
- Transmission going out on friend's 2004 Impala. Is it possible to install a manual transmission taken from a 1992 Honda Civic in this car? Not worth replacing trans on a car this old, but the engine and everything else are still perfect. My friend was able to get a free manual trans from a 1992 Honda Civic. But i'm not sure whether or not you can use a trans from a different vehicle
- 2007 Honda Element with 64k, owner's manual says 110k for valve adjustment. How can one size fit all without knowing how I drive? No issues with the car but some say if the engine is noisy it is time to adjust the valves, others say just the opposite, if the engine is quiet the valves are too tight and need adjusting. Any one want to give some opinions?
- Are 1998 Honda CRV with manual transmission worth buying for 5000? I'm looking to buy a 1998 Honda CRV with manual transmission. The price is 5000 dlls. It is in good condition and the mileage is 140,000. Has anyone purchased a 1998 Honda CRV? Any advice? It is my first car and I do travel in the weekends out of town to visit family. The trip is about 140 km and part of the road is a dirt road.
- Can you put a 7 speed manual transmission in a car that comes stock with a 4 or 5 speed manual transmission? I'm just curious to know if this is possible or if anyone has tried it. I wany to know what is possible to get the most out of a car. I'm probably going to be getting an acura(no hondas) and doing the necessary upgrades, turbo and all that. If anyone has any experience let me know
