Transmission going out on friend's 2004 Impala. Is it possible to install a manual transmission taken from a 1992 Honda Civic in this car?
Not worth replacing trans on a car this old, but the engine and everything else are still perfect. My friend was able to get a free manual trans from a 1992 Honda Civic. But i'm not sure whether or not you can use a trans from a different vehicle
Wow. That would cost more to modify the car to make that work than to just buy another car
LOL. Well technically it could be done, with extreme modifications. But to do so it would cost more than double, if not triple, what the Impala is worth. Simply not a practical undertaking.
I DON't see it happening, they won't bolt up together.
Do an OBD2 code check. Those are notorious for having shift solenoid failure- an easy and not too expensive repair. Will A Honda Civic transmission fit in that car? How big is the trunk, because that's all you can do with that. It will not adapt to the Chevy. Short answer; hell no.
No.
LOL! Let's take a Honda transmission and put it in a Chevy! Yeah, that'll work real well because we all know Chevy and Honda used the same factory.
Is impala front wheel drive? I believe honda is front wheel drive. The easiest way is to use same brand/type of the vehicle.
YIKES… That will never work!
Sure. All transmissions are interchangeable. *rolls eyes*
- Why is my 2006 honda civic manual transmission going into gear revving up high and moving forward slowly? I'm not sure if my parking brake is stuck or not. It moves in reverse just fine. When i put it into first gear its moving forward very slowly even when i push the gas down all the way.
- My friend thinks his Corvette C6 is faster than my 97 Honda Civic, what is the most polite way to tell him he is wrong? I've got a decat pipe and a racing exhaust system that probably add at least 300 horsepower to the wheels, but he still thinks his fully stock C6 would beat it lol.
- Is my transmission going out in mu honda? Hello so my car throws itself forward when I step on the gas. And also when I step on the gas its doesn't accelerate sometimes. I have a 95 honda civic dx
- I just bought a 1996 Honda Civic manual with around 180000kms on it. There's a bit of water dripping out of exhaust when car is stationary? There's no water in oil I just changed it and it was pretty clean. And coolant was low but is fine now. No smoke either and car is sitting halfway on temperature gauge please help?
