CAN I DRIVE WITH A BLOWN OUT TRANSMISSION?

I have a 98 honda prelude automatic, brand new transmission and engine. This morning the D4 light started flashing, check engine light came on, and the speedometer kept spinning (I was on the freeway). When I start to drive it jumps a little. Do I have to get a new transmission or can it be fixed without replacing it? How much would it cost? & can I still drive the car?

Fact that VW have tricked out their Cars to pass emission tests does not mean?

The fact that VW have tricked out their Cars to pass emission tests does not mean? - 1

Added (1). That EVERYBODY else is doing it too (as if they would)

Added (2). Volkswagen emissions were found to be 40 TIMES higher than US Law demands LOL
Naturally, Toyota would never consider doing such a thing

Added (3). I can practically guarantee that Toyota and Honda have been tricking their TDI Cars for years LOL

Added (4). *I'm NOT talking about Emissions as a whole I'm commentating on VWs deception

Added (5). *Sherlock: Exactly. It's going to need a recall of over 500,000 cars at least plus courtesy cars supplied. Possibly even replacement engines… And the cost will be astronomical!

How to resolve deceptive issue with shady car dealer?

This month, I leased a second vehicle with the same dealer. I'm very happy with the car, and I got a great deal; but, I'm upset about something. When I was signing the lease, the Finance Manager offered be a maintenance plan for $11 per month that covers all oil changes and maintenance. Based on the amount I drive, I think it would be worth it for me, but I didn't at the time. The day after signing the papers, I called the Finance Manager and said I wanted to add the maintenance plan. He said he would have to redo the paperwork, and the cost would be $21 per month since the $11 promotion from Honda ended at the end of the month. BS! To me, this is completely unacceptable not to honor what was disclosed to me, especially since the never explained that that the offer was limited. Even if Honda does not honor the offer, the dealership should pay the difference ($360 for a repeat customer? Not too much to ask). How can I go about getting them to honor the original offer? The sales person said I will get a survey call from Honda, and that if I give bad grade the dealership will lose its commission. Is that leverage? Otherwise, I'm considering calling the Attorney General, the FCC and The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to report the deceptive practices. I will also tell the story on YELP!

2003 Nissan maxima SE or 2003 Acura TL type s?

Sure the maxima has a legendary VQ35DE, but the type s has 260hp with the outstanding fuel efficiency and reliability of a Honda. Which one do you recommend? I'm stumped on which one to get to it

Is it a bad idea to buy a used car that isn't completely stock?

So I found this 2006 Acura TL at a dealership nearby. It's an official Acura dealership that has great reviews all around. However the car just seems shady to me. It seems to be in great exterior condition, and it has low miles (50k), however it looks like the previous owner did some work to it. I'm leery of used cars that aren't stock. There appears to be a body kit on the exterior and tinted windows, besides that the car isn't lowered and the wheels and rims appear to be factory original. There also appears to be a button missing from the door panel in one of the photos. I'm worried about the previous owner altering the factory suspension and possibly doing things to the car that may be prone to failure later in the car's life and basically not taking proper care of it. This car seems perfect for me, matches my exact price point, low miles, has all the features I wanted, has the color I wanted, comes from the Honda/Acura family which is of high importance to me. However I want this car to last a long time and I'm just leery about the previous owner tinkering with it in any way. I value used cars that were simply driven; not tinkered with or altered in any way. Seems like a great car but these things are holding me back. What do you think?
