Ideas, could they help race using an automatic transmission?

I've been interested in racing lately. Although it is not part of my question, bonus points if you briefly explain the different types!
First off, this is purely for curiosity(for now, no life long promises!).
I've read a lot saying manual transmissions are more efficient for racing because you can hold the gears longer, into the redline rpm's, and that automatic transmissions will shift gears before redline point. For this reason, manual transmissions will get a faster acceleration if used properly.
My question however: Is it possible to achieve the same rpm's with an automatic? I don't mean a sports car, I mean like a typical Honda or Nissan. My theory to achieve this would be to start the race in 1 instead of D, then after getting into 6000 rpms shift into second gear, etc. Essentially manually shifting up the gears. Would this work?

I have not and do not intend to test this as it will most likely wreck my transmission I just rebuilt.

Any and all positive contribution is welcome

Cars similar to the Honda Element?

Ok so I have a 2004 Honda Element. I'm not sure how much longer I have left with my car before the engine or transmission dies. It has over 320 thousand miles. I took care of it well by only taking it to the dealer over the last 12 years. It was roomy for back seat passengers as well as hauling everything plus easy to clean floors. My family and I basically drove all over the US On various vacations over the years. I know they no longer make these cars so I was wondering if anything else compared or if I should buy another one used when mine kicks the bucket.

Why is my aircon turning on by itself randomly?

I was driving one day and then all of a sudden the aircon turns on by itself. I tried to turn it off by pressing the buttons/switch but none of them work. I drive a 1993 Honda Integra Si Dc2. What could be the problem?

What order do the stator wires go?

I have a 1989 honda vtr 250 I'm replacing the stator. There are 3 yellow wires that go from the stator to the rectifier, the stator I bought requires you to put the 3 yellow wires into the connector. However I don't know which wires go in where, I do not know the order, the wires are the same size and color. Does it matter which 3 of the yellow wires go to the 3 rectifier wires?

Any tips for buying used car for a first timer?

I've been reading some of guides, but I still feel uneasy with going through the correct process of buying a used car. I'm a 20 year old college kid who is in need of a used car now to get between school and a part time job.

The most personal guide I've been able to read up on to buy used cars is this: http://www.reddit.com/...on/chi83ck

I've been looking to buy on Craigslist since my budget is $3000. Preferably less. If any one has taken a look at the little guide I linked, are there any of your thoughts to add?

I'm still worried about how to find a mechanic to check the car and how to handle the money. I've also seen these cautionary advices to make sure the seller signs the pink slips(?) correctly or it won't be properly transferred to me. So I'm still looking up the process to make sure the car is under my ownership. I'm living under my single mom and she doesn't exactly know how to help me. I learned she doesn't really negotiate with the dealership (which I heard is really, really bad) and I can't afford paying the ridiculous insurance amount to share with her 2012 car. I'm looking at some Toyotas and maybe Hondas from 1990's which I'm hoping I can get a reliable one. Or maybe an early 2000 if insurance can shoot me a much better quote.

My Four Wheeler broke what's wrong with it?

I have a 2012 Honda Four Trax Trx420te. Right now something is wrong with it. It will start up just fine. But when ever I put it into the next gear it will run for a few seconds and it will cut off. If I'm fast enough to put it into neutral it will stay on. Can someone tell me what's wrong?

Should IndyCar Series engine rules like point-deduciton penalty and engine change penalty abolished?

This season IndyCar Series has lot of conspiracies. The prove is deduction point of Engine manufacturer standings who affected Chevrolet and Honda. Point-deduction penalty and engine change penalty should be abolished because can cost the performance of Chevrolet or Honda. The prove was Chevy's 220 points deduction penalty after St. Pete in 2015, 20 points deduction after Barber, 20 points deduction prior to Indy GP and 40 points deduction during Firestone 600 at Texas. And Honda was also hit by 40 points deduction after Indy GP, 80 points deduction after Indy 500, 20 points deduction after Detroit, 20 points deduction during Firestone 600 at Texas and 40 points deduction after Toronto
