Flashing check engine light?
I have a 2000 Honda prelude type SH. THe check engine light was on so I got a buddy to pull the codes. It said random misfires and cylinders 3+4 most often. So he recommended I do a tune up. I bought new spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap and distributor rotor. Everything was the same that was already in te car (same plugs wires cap and rotor) except brand new. After installing the car ran great and I had no issues. About 2 days later I started my car up in the morning and had a flashing check engine light. I know this means a really bad misfire is happening so I didn't drive it. Later on I check the wires were all in right spot and the plugs were gapped correctly. I even put all the old stuff back on and nothing changed. When I pull out the spark plugs the ends are black and smell like gas. CEL is still flashing and engine is running slightly rough. I'm stumped on what to do. Can anyone help?
