I need to find a part for my Honda ex1000 generator. I can't seem to find a part for a reasonable price or even the right part

I have a Honda Generator and I need to buy a carburetor. I can find a lot of different ones online but I only find One for the Model I have. It is 80 bucks. I see a lot that look the same and I would like to know how to find one that is cheaper. I have looked for hours and can't find one that is cheap like the others. The part number is 16100-ZC0-015. Does anyone know how I can find a variety to choose from or do I need to get the honda brand carb?

Want to rebuild engine. What work will I need a machine shop for?

I have done a lot of minor car work myself, but this is the first time I've looked into doing an engine rebuild. It's a Honda b18c, and I'm just wondering what work I could likely do myself with basic garage tools, and what work I'll definitely need a machine shop for?

Are American cars better than foreign cars?

I need to know why do american cars most of the time only last til about 140,000 miles or so? Why do foreign cars go for 230k easy? I do realize that some American cars go for much longer then 140k, and some foreign cars don't go for long. But of the majority, American cars, do NOT last as long as foreign cars. Why? Is that bad engine parts used on American cars? Do foreign cars have different types of metal for the parts? Such as some of the Honda's have aluminum heads.

Should I listen to Honda on maintenance?

Owner's manual states the oil filter should be changed every other oil change instead of every oil change. Why do they recommend this and should I listen or ignore it?

So can oil filters really last 20,000 miles?
