Kenwood KAC-646x with subwoofer?

I have a 2011 Honda Pilot. My pilot has a subwoofer in the back stock. I want to replace with with an after market subwoofer possibly Kicker 40CWD104 it is a free air sub. I know it will power the sub fine rms for sub is 50-300. Amp runs @ 124x2. I'm wondering if this amp and that sub would be compatible (specs for amp at bottom and sub too). If 4ohm sub won't work wit it what ohm would ect so on and so forth. Just need some electrical advice and wiring/ compatability I suppose. I know this amp is old but its sitting around the house doing nothing. I don't want anything louder cuz it is a family vehicle just want a bit more bump than the 35w the sterio is pushin out.

Specs say it's 70x2 bridged at 4 ohms. I'm curious where you came up with 124x2.

Typically a 4 ch amp is a poor match for a single subwoofer, but since the cwd104 is actually a dual voice coil sub you COULD bridge the amp and run one bridged channel per sub. You'd need to pay close attention to getting the settings on each pair of channels.
A much better option would be a mono amp that's around 300w rms at 2 ohms.

  • Cost to install subwoofer? Let's say I want to have a professional install a 10-inch subwoofer and amp in my Honda Fit. How much will this cost approximately?
  • Why my kenwood kdc-148 won't keep the settings saved? I recently installed a new Kenwood KDC-148 radio in my 98 honda civic lx… I have set it so that DEMO MODE is OFF, and changed the time on the unit to the correct time, yet everytime I switch off the engine it resets. I have all the speaker wires hooked up which leaves me with a blue wire and a brown wire that's not in use and my red and yellow wires that powers the radio are hooked up to the red and yellow wire coming from the car harness! Can't seem to find the memory wire!
  • What subwoofer's should I get? I have a 2001 Honda Civic Coupe DX. I'm going to listen to a lot of Hip Hop, Rap, House, Alternative, Pop, Rock, Trap, and a bit of Dubstep. Sound quality and Bass is very important to me. Can anyone recommend any great brands, that are also economical?
  • What kind of amp and subwoofer do I need? Okay, I barely know anything about cars so. I wanted to know ehat kind of amplifier and subwoofer would i need for a 1998 Honda Civic 2 Door Coupe EX. Is there a certain kind i need. I don't want to purchase one thats blows the windows out the car either?
