What's the standard pilot and fuel mixture screw setting on honda motorcycle?
I have a 1980 honda cm200 that doesn't want to start up what settings should i put the pilot and fuel mixture screw at? So that it can atleast turn on, i have it at 2 full turns from seated for the pilot and 5 turns for the fuel mixture screw but it won't turn on
Fuel mixture screw 1 1/4 turns from seated position.
The engine should run with the choke, where ever the idle screw is at.
If no start:
Clean the carburetor - especially the pilot jet.
Change the spark plugs.
Inspect the air filter.
There should be two screws, one for the air/fuel mixture (This controls the mixture at idle - 15% of throttle or so) and another screw is for the idle. Try the air/fuel mixture screw at 1 and 1/2 turns out. The bike should still run no matter where the idle screw is, but if it's not correct, it will not want to idle and will die out or it will run but idle to high.
As it's not starting though, it could be something else;
Check spark plug is clean and shiny. You want a blue / purple spark.
Check spark plug is gapped correctly.
Check fuel is getting to the carburettor.
IF fuel is getting to carburettor, make sure it's entering the float bowl.
IF it's entering the float bowl, and you have spark, then it's likely that the problem is a clogged Pilot Jet and/or passage. In which case, blow both out with air.
- What is pilot sales? I have heard that Honda did pilot sales of HR-V in the US I do not live in the US? So I do not know what does it mean. I'm taking about the following article: http://www.fool.com/investing/general/2015/08/10/2016-pilot-could-place-honda-among-the-chart-toppe.aspx
- Pilot or air/fuel screw setting? What is the recommended number of turns for the pilot screw ( the air/fuel screw) on a 1982 Honda Nighthawk 450? I recently set it to 2 1/2 turns out but it doesn't seem to be getting enough
- Setting the Flywheel timing on a Honda 150cc Lawnmower Engine? I took an old Honda G150 apart and am now putting it back together and I'm not sure how to get the flywheel timed properly. Can anyone just give me a basic walk through on how to time the flywheel?
- I'm 5'4 I weigh 130 looking for cruiser/standard starter motorcycle? I want fwy accessible as well good for road trips up through the mountains. Possible durable for a Sturgis trip. But back to the basics. I'm tiny and I yes need to plant my feet on the ground to keep a bike up. I was looking at the Honda CBR300r but that is not good for long distances. I need a long distance and feh accessible motorcycle where I can sit up and not hunch or lay on a bike. Any thoughts advice on style type motorcycle for a beginner? No Vespa scooters or sports type.
