Should I sell my car or repair it?
2010 Honda. Great car, great MPG, and it's paid off BUT it's one thing after another I feel like. There's a recall on the brakes so I'm constantly getting those fixed. I just found it it'll cost me over $1,000 to repair my AC… I live in Texas so it's hot until late October. And my roof has started leaking when it rains to the point where my car constantly is humid inside and smells from being wet.
I can afford car payments but should I stick it out and pay the repairs and enjoy having a paid off car or say goodbye?
The roof leaks?! Was one side badly damaged in an accident? I'd see if you can that addressed with new rubber seals. You don't say how many miles are on it… In my experience, stuff starts going in the 130K range. If you're less than that, probably I'd fix the A/C.
Sort of sounds like you're not even enjoying it now! What's wrong with the AC system? If it's just low on 134a you might want to spend the $30 for a can of 134a with a the sealant in it and give it a try.
Unless the roof is leaking from rust, I do not see a new car here. To a body shop, replacing a piece of door gasket is minor stuff. On the a/c I would shop it around. Put a little into the car and you will regain your love for it. A seven year old Honda is in its prime.
$1000 to repair it or $27000 for a new car, big decision, it's unsellable unless you repair it
- Should I sell my car and invest the money? I have 2 cars. A 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse and an 2006 Honda S2000. I'm thinking of selling the Honda and getting 12-15k for it. Then investing that money. I have a friend who builds and flips houses. He said if I invest he'll give me a good return on it when they sell. I forgot the percentage he said, but it was higher than doing a cd or anything like that. I like my car, but I only drive that one once a week or so. Should I try and sell it and use it to make more money?
- Should I sell my aging car? I'm currently own a 1997 Automatic Honda Prelude that I use as my daily driver. I've had it for about 2 years with no issues but I will be moving to the city for my sophomore year of college. I have saved enough money to buy myself a newer used car. Should I keep the car even if the repairs that will come later on will cost more than what its worth, or sell it for a used Nissan 350z?
- I sell cars for 1800$ or less but the taxes are almost here could I sell this car for 3000$? It's a 2004 Suzuki Verona 159,000 miles Automatic It's in exelent condition no problems But do you think I'll get 3000$ for it? Most people usually want a honda or Toyota
- How much should i sell my car for? - 1 I have a 2000 honda crv with 195,000 miles, the transmission is rebuilt and also a new front differential has been put in, cosmetically the car is immpeccable, paint is still shiny, OEM rims are clean, and the interior is almost untouched.
