Starting problems Honda c100?

I have recently restored a Honda c100 and now can't start it. The best I can get is a slow tick over for about 20seconds if I have the choke and throttle fully open. This to me says to much fuel. I have changed the fuel hoses and the new ones had a slightly bigger bore diameter. These go from the tank to the tap on the carb. Would this be causing my problems or does the tap restrict the flow anyway.

Choke Open or, Closed?

Verify this. You may be too lean to sustain cold idle, Depending on what year, it may not be a choke at all but an idle enrichener. Make sure the cable is pulling it all the way up. Or, a butterfly choke, all the way Closed.

Remove line from carb, turn on fuel. ; Good Flow? If not start there: Remove tap, check for debris on tank, open tap and inspect,. Blow out lines. If that doesn't do it, remove carb bowl, look for stuff. Is the needle free? Spray out all jets in carb with cleaner. Spray around throttle and choke. Check plug, Do you have spark? Fill carb bowl 1/2 way with canned cleaner, put it back on, allow gas in. Let sit 5 minutes, try again. If this doesn't do it, check carb mounting for vac leak, or recheck valve adjustment, timing, and ignition timing. Does it have any compression?

Did It run before? Supply a compression and vacuum reading and repost. Did you adjust valve lash… Did you do it hot? Is there a fuel filter anywhere in the line? Fuel valve? How long has it sit? / cab gum?

One easy way to find out what is going on is to read the spark plug, its condition can tell you a lot about what is going on.

The brass parts of a carb will wear and o-rings will perish (and they can be slightly out of position).

It is always thinking about the problem from a different direction too, instead of too much fuel how about too little air?

You don't say you did a total rebuild (disassembly, cleaning, replacement of all worn parts) of the carb and set it up per the shop manual. You don't say you removed and cleaned out the tank petcocks and finger strainers.

The fuel hose diameter will have no affect on the engine running or not.

Open the air box and inspect the air filter.
Small animals like to build nests in tight areas.

Adjust the points and inspect the timing advancer for free movement.

The engine requires a strong, fully charged battery to run.

Check the cylinder compression.
Remove the spark plug.
Push your thumb against the spark plug hole.
Press the start button.
If the compression is good, your thumb will get blown away from the hole.
If you have enough strength to keep the spark plug hole sealed close, the engine is worn out and requires a rebuild.

Check the valve timing.
