Toyota Supra an mitsubishi eclipse gsx?

My buddy has worked on his gsx for awhile an it looks preety dam nice. A lot better since he got it. He's done some performance work an all an customized his body. The exterior from hood, bumper an headlight conversion because face it it looks hideous, don't get me wrong it's done right not looking like a ricer or an idiot like a Honda owner. He's done some work on the the back too. Sanding down the middle truck lock removing the eclipse letterring an painting over the gap between the tailights. Leaving the tailights as is not changing it. Now he wishes to do an engine swap to keep up with my 96 supra.

An ideas of an engine swap?

I love the eclipse he needs to spend the money on the 4g63 itself don't spend the 10k in parts with an engine spend it on the one that's already in there put that in modifications you will not find an engine that will fit comfortably even the evo 4G63 will need modifications to the body let alone the engine is rotated so the hood wouldn't close. The 2jz-gte in the supra is the better engine I love them both but the 2jz is capable of 2000HP when intense money is put into it compared to 1000HP for a 4g63t.

If it's a gsx why would he want to do an engine swap? You didn't say what year, but that model is usually has a turbo engine and awd. Money for swap would be put to better use building that engine.

The engine on the GSX is the Mitsubishi 4G63 turbo, the same one in the Evolution 1-9. Even if there were another engine you could swap to, why? The 4G63 is bulletproof and very, very easy to modify.

You could spend upwards of $10k to try to get another engine in there, but for around $5000 you could modify the engine in there now to put out some decent power.

Don't do it. Your asking for trouble and tons of money wasted…
