What do Honda dealerships use for paint and fabric protection?
If you let a dealership ANY dealership sell you a paint and fabric protection package you should at least demand they give you a kiss in the bargain. I hate to see anyone getting scr#wed without getting kissed. You can buy a can of Scotchgard and do the fabric yourself for 1/10th what a dealer will do and the paint protection (if they actually do anything) is nothing more than a good wax job will do. This is the single biggest ripoff in the automotive world except for, maybe, extended warranties.
One that you could buy yourself at the fraction of the cost that dealers charge to apply. They are just perks to get salesmen their commission, everyone of them is a con and should not be taken as part of a deal.
Paint sealant is nothing more than synthetic wax like Mequiers Ultra. Fabric protection is just spray on fabric protector like Scothguard or RustoleumNeverWet.
You can buy both and do it yourself for under $50
- Should I paint over a bad tear in my bumper, or order a new one and have the mechanics install it then have them paint it? I recently bought a used 1997 Honda Prelude. It's red and badly sun faded and has a bad tear on the rear bumper. I was wondering whether I should just have it painted over or order a whole new bumper and have the people at the shop install it and paint it for me. Any suggestions?
- Paint job help and recommendations needed? I don't know what happened? I went to a friends house to hang out and this was last night. There house was gated so I had to dial in so I could get through. I was trying not to scrape my car against the security box, but somehow I did. The only area of the car that has been affected was the drivers side back door. I drive a 2004 Honda Element ex. I live in maple valley Washington and looking for a cheap paint job.
- What month in 1996 did the Honda CBR1100XX arrive at dealerships? All the literature says Honda began production of CBR1100XX 1996. When did it hit the dealerships? What it 1995 for model year 1996 or as it in 1996. And what month was it.
- If in the owners manual it says I should use 5W-20 motor oil, can I use 10W-40 motor oil instead? I have a 2009 Honda Fit. I just recently bought 10W-40 and when I got home to put oil in the manual said 5W-20. What's the difference? And is it okay if I still use the 10W-40?
