I guess it depends on what you mean by quality. A Subaru is very reliable but the interiors are horribly and cheaply made. I'd love to say Nissan but they've been having issues lately. I think in general you can't go wrong with Honda. All around they've been able to hold a high standard of quality since the brand was first introduced. They are reliable and the interiors are nicely made. The car is just overall very well made and thought out.
They are all good cars.
Buy what you like. Id say Suburu would be 5th, Mazda 4th, Nissan 3rd and a toss up for 1st & 2nd.
But, buy what you like. How it does is going to depend more on how you take care of it than the brand name.
Or if you are buying a used car, its condition.
I think used Mazdas are good values compared to the others. They tend to be a little cheaper.
If I had to rank them Subaru, Mazda, Toyota, Nissan and Honda. My ranking is based on the lowest number of recalls from National Highway and Traffic Safety (NHTSA). Of the manufacturers listed Subaru has long been the star immediately after the assembly line. Initial customer satisfaction according to JD Powers has been tops. In fact Subaru's are highly sought after as used vehicles because they are built so well.
Depends on the model and your definition of 'quality'. Subaru, Honda, Toyota and Mazda are all generally safe bets for all of their models.
Mazda had some reliability issues with the CX7 turbo engine (no longer produced in the USA) and the Rotary engines (not currently produced for USA), but other than that, they are solid.
Some of the newer Nissan's are not quite as nice and I, personally, think their CVT engines in the Altima and Murano are terrible.
- Why Suzuki is not as popular as Toyota, Honda.Nissan, Mazda, and Subaru? I hardly see any Suzuki vehicles on the road, and wonder why if t is also Japanese. it appears that both Mitsubishi and Suzuki lag behind its Japanese counterparts. I feel Suzuki are very good cars, but most people fail to see that and they don't notice it.
- How did Mitsubishi compare to Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Subaru, and Mazda in the 80's, 90's, and early 2000's? I remember back in the early 2000's, I used to see many Mitsubishi's being driven. Now, I hardly see them around. Was Mitsubishi, generally, as good as the other car-makes mentioned above, in terms of general customer-satisfaction (fuel-efficiency, reliability, etc.)? In the US
- Is there a cheaper SUV that rivals the Honda CR-V in terms of cargo space and fuel efficiency? I'm trying to find a compact SUV that rivals the CR-V in cargo space and fuel efficiency but is cheaper. Anyone know?
- Honda CR-V, Hyundai Tucson, Nissan Rogue, or Subaru Forester? My grandma is looking for a new car and she'd prefer a small SUV. My family has no experience with Subaru and very little with Honda and Nissan, but my parents have had a very good experience with our 2013 Hyundai Sonata. From what I've heard, the Honda will hold its value the best but Hyundai offers a 10 year/100,000 mile powertrain warranty.
