What should I do about this?
I had a Nissan dealer pay for my Honda lease that was ending so I could get a new car from them. They put 4 payments and the early termination fee I had from Honda into the deal. But Honda ended up not charging me an early termination fee. So I feel like I got cheated $350. Nissan said they make the payment direct to Honda. So they are saving money but it wasn't it a factor in the deal? Should I say something? I got a pretty good price on the car but I feel like if I say something I may get charged in another sneaky way. What should I do?
Shut up and pay up.
You agreed to the deal
You signed the contract.
If you overpay on a payoff for a lease or a financed vehicle, then the company that receives the overpayment (Honda Financial Services) will refund the amount of the overpayment to you via check. They will typically refund you within 30 days. If it takes longer, contact HFS, and see what's holding up the process.
You signed the deal.
Seems you should speak to a Sales Manager.
You agreed to it. You can argue with the new dealer but I doubt you will get anywhere.
If the deal was that the Nissan dealer will pay any and all outstanding on the Honda lease, that's between the Nissan dealer and Honda. Any changes in those fees does NOT mean that YOU are owed any cash back.
You got the benefit of not having to make those payments out of your own pocket. That's what you got. So what are you complaining about?
The $350 is called a disposition fee (not an "early termination" fee) and is charged when you (or Nissan) returns the car. It is AWAYS charged to YOU, not to Nissan. You may get a bill from Honda later, which means you got charged twice for the $350.
Having said the above, and Honda did not send you a bill for the $350 means that Nissan might have decided to purchase the vehicle from Honda for the lease residual value, as a used car to put on their lot. In that case, Honda would not have sent you a bill. It also probably means you had some trade equity in the car, and you not only gave it away to Nissan but let them charge you for the last 4 payments. Ouch.
If I were you I would find out from Nissan whether they 1) returned the car to Honda on your behalf, or 2) bought the car from Honda for their used car lot -- just so you know which way you got screwed.
- What kind of engine should i put in go-kart? I want a off road veicle that can go 50-60 MPH or higher. I'm going to get a honda engine but how big should it be. It has to be able to get through mud to.
- Should I buy a honda prelude (4th gen)? I want a honda prelude 4th gen automatic & as my daily car. Would it be a great car? Also I want to know if anything is wrong with the 4th gens. Please let me know anything about the h22 engine.
- How much should I pay to replace the AC compressor on a 2010 Honda Odyssey? The air conditioning on my wife's minivan recently went out. I had her take it to a mechanic expecting a refill situations costing less than $100. When they got back to us they said the clutch would not engage on the AC and it required replacement costing over 1100 dollars. I've seen the part online for $250 to 450. How much is reasonable to pay for this repair? Would I be better off buying the part online and having someone else install it? I'm told the job is about 3 hours.
- Just bought a honda 3 wheeler and it smokes a little bit what should i do? So i was thinking i just need to keep oil in it and it should be fine but i'm not totally sure.
