Rail - by Amtrak is about as close to mass public transportation as you can get. That, or riding the public or private bus.
Only B. Cars are private transportation, even when rented. Except when used as a taxi, which is fare based, but limited passenger, not route oriented, so would still be private.
Public transportation is route based. Private or chartered services are more ad-hoc, go where you wish to do, not necessarily on a time schedule, nor preselected route.

- Dirt bike transportation? I have a 2005 Ford Explorer with a class 2 hitch that has a 1 1/4 receiver, and a Honda crf450R. I want to transport my bike but all hitch mounts for bikes are make for class 3 hitches with 2 inch receivers. I bought a 1 1/4 to 2 inch adapter, would the class 3 hitch work for me as long as I remember I can't carry as much as a class 3 hitch?
